@Riot Why does Fiddle's ult go on full cooldown while still channeling?

Also, imagine if you silenced or broke his ult somehow in a team fight, then he moved away and did it again, there would be a fiddle ult every fight. fiddle would be top teir.

Because Cait and Darius have single target ults with a channel. Fiddle's is a massive AOE.

The fact is that Darius and Cait's "channeling" doesn't work the same as does Fiddle's. In short words, Darius and Cait are Cast Time, while Fid is Channeling.

Wich means that Fid's Ult has a condition: "channel for 1.5 seconds before launching" while Darius and Garen just have long cast time. If their cast time is interrupted, they will just try to cast it again. The best exemple is Pantheon, wich has the 2 of them. If you cast his ult, he has 2 "channelings". The first one is the casting time, and you can interrupt it by yourself, it will go on a 5 seconds or so CD. Meanwhile, the second channel is the real thing, where you have to channel for said amount of seconds to launch. If you are interrupted during THIS casting, it goes on CD.

Since it's still not so clear, I'll refer you to this thread where CertainlyT explains in details how it works. The thread is about Darius, but you can compare quite easily since the OP talks about Cait and Karthus as exemples.
