Kog'maw build?

Whats a good build for kogmaw? I like to rush mallet but can anyone explain why malady is good on kogmaw.

Malady is good on Kogmaw because Kogmaw deals a lot of magic damage. Malady lower's magic resist her hit, increases attack speed, and adds a bit of magic damage which will make Kogmaw's damage really high! If you build a lot of magic damage, Malady becomes very powerful.

AP attack speed build goes something like this
Doran's Blade -> Sell for a defensive item like Banshee's Veil
Berzerker's Boots
Malady
Wit's End
Phage -> Frozen Mallet
Ionic Spark

For Kog Maw, the AD carry build is best. It works better early game due to better harassment and it works with lifesteal.

I love AS/Onhit but it just doesnt work very well anymore. The attack speed is mostly useless early game since you are trying to last hit and snipe at the enemy....not sustained damage.

Basically arcane barrage is a range booster, with the extra damage as a tasty bonus. Consider Kog as such.

In any case, Kog is a DAMAGE DEALER. Rushing a frozen mallet is awful.


Id start with Dorans if you have a sustain healing support.
Then a second Dorans or two.
Then a BFSword.
Then, a ZEAL (instead of the Inf Edge rush that most do).
Upgrade to Phantom Dancer. Huge mobility boost and better sustained damage since you already hit hard enough to poke effectively.
Then upgrade to Inf Edge.
Grab a vamp scepter as needed and upgrade it to something.
Grab Phage to Frozen Mallet as needed.

AD isn't best, AP attack speed does more damage if the enemy builds armor. AP attack speed damage output is also pretty ridiculous if no one builds any magic resist. Enemy ADC that build guardian angel berzerker greaves will get melted by AP attack speed kogmaw. AP attack speed Kogmaw forces the enemy to build a lot of magic resist or take heavy damage.

Ow my head hurts from reading this garbage,
Optimal ADC build works, every time. There's a reason why this is the final build on most AD's besides maybe Corki and Ezreal, and the anticarry Urgot, it provides the highest sustained damage.

Problem with AP build, you wont always have your % HP thing off cooldown, mana issues with Spamming ult, no ability to lifesteal off on hit effects, your team should already have an AP carry and thus getting heavy MR is probably already on the enemy bruiser/ tanks list of things to do anyway.

Also, at OP's post, frozen mallet is a bad investment unless its your absolute last item as a defensive measure, its cheaper to just get crit/AS/movespeed from PD to kill them before they reach you than for the slows on a single target.

Infinity edge, Phantom Dancer, Last whisper, Bloodthirster, (Defensive item/ another PD/ Trinity if youre just that fed or gotta do everything yourself)
This build works, always.

Wow. Just wow. So your brillant argument is that magical damage does more damage if they build armor and no magic resistance?

Well hell. I'll just tell the enemy to plz don't build MR, cuz I am going AP/AS. Should work fine. Everyone knows that ADCs typically build tons and tons of armor, right?

Kog is supposed to be AD. The other carry is already an AP champ. They WILL be building magic resist anyways. Going AP is just stupid IF in the bot lane AD slot.
