I think one of the strengths of your old lore, was that a majority of champions had legitimate reasons for joining up with the League.

Just curious, some champions have more filler lore. Do you plan to redraft them entirely? Karthus is my favorite champion and his lore is more... shrouded to say the least. At the same time, his character does not exactly fit lol which kind of goes hand in hand with his unknown lore. Would the approach to develop his character more deeply in a full rewrite or to try to maintain the atmosphere of current champions at much as possible while expanding on the lore?

Okay, I'm sorry, but he doesn't have a mental disability.

I'm not sure how exactly long I want to make my point, but no. He's Udyr. He hears the whispers on the wind, he understands the chirping of the birds, he speaks the barks of wolves, he is comfortable with nature.

He's a stubborn, egotistical, crazy beast man who fights everyone he wants with only his fists. He doesn't have an ultimate because ha ha it'd be wasted on you, believes in survival of the fittest and he's narrow minded. If he believes in A and you tell him B, he will flat out punch you most likely, or tell you that you are wrong. He left home because his parents didn't want him to stay outside so much and scolded him. His response? Fine, I'm going out in the woods! Later!

Everything Udyr does, is by his choice. He hears the spirits of nature in his mind. I personally don't think he has a stance, because every time he changes "stances" he bellows a roar of the animal. It's like they're a part of him. I think they're more animal aspects rather than stances. He speaks in the personal pronoun "we" for crying out loud, that emphasizes the fact that he communes with the spirits of nature!

Udyr doesn't have a mental problem. He's a man who is as free as the clouds. No one can bind him, no one can tell him what to do, or what to say. Everything he does, is of his own choice, and of his own will. He's only in the League so he can punch more people in their face because it's his philosophy: survival of the fittest. He wants to be the strongest, so there are none others that can topple him. It's like, combining Jyuza, Raoh, a splash of Kenshiro, Akuma into one character. He's a very smart individual, because he was raised by monks, but still decides that he is in fact, right and you are, in fact, wrong.

That's my take on Udyr.

Wind, Water, Earth, Fire
Tiger, Turtle, Bear, Phoenix

And if you really want to push it, Monkey is his playful spirit, or heart. He's Captain freaking Planet.

That's what I got from his lore, his dialogue, his tone of voice, and the way he carries himself in his stances. I could go on a lot longer about how his stances portray his character and the way he holds himself with his stances, but then I'm writing a saga.

Just discovered the lore changes by looking at the forums. The patch notes should contain "updated Shyvana's lore".

Cool! I think this is really exciting. I really love reading the lore. I agree with other people that Annie's lore needs to be updated: we have no idea what is driving her and don't know much about her personally. But if lore is supposed to provide insight into characters' motivations why does Karthus's lore pretty much say "Dude won't tell his motivation" ? Haha. Anyway, excited about this.

Also, someone earlier in the thread just blew my mind by stating the Shadow Isles characters were manifestations of the horsemen......... Did not know that

Hi kitae, I would like to start by congratulate your amazing effort in improving the lore.
I recently growth a interest in the lore and spent hours reading champion bios and the JoJ's (I'm obsessed with them... I'm sad they ended). Could you shade a light in what ways you're going to provide lore?
I sincerely think that the JoJ was an innovative way to deliver lore. You guys are really committed and we all appreciate that.

ON TOPIC:
I think that Lulu's bio should be revised. She is one of my favorite champions and her bio doesn't mesh with her whimsical theme. I try to see the current bio as a fable with a moral of the history, something like "home is where your heart is" or "home is where you're happy" because of the Glade and such but somethings don't feel right.
When I look at Lulu's artwork, I don't associate her with exclusion and loneliness. I get the vibe that she's very positive and a little naive.
The part where the yordles demand that she leaves Bandle City breaks my heart. For me Bandle City is a friendly community, that sticks together and protect each other. Yes they didn't understand her powers but kicking her out of the city was the only solution? It made me question if Bandle City is xenophobic against magical beings (besides Lulu and excluding Veigar, there's a lack of magical yordles).
I also wonder how Lulu reacted to this. Did it affected her? How did she felt when her people excluded her? In the bio it states that she went to the Institute of War because it was a place where she could be adored. Granted, she was a lonely person, but still doesn't she want fellow yordles's approval? I mean, for us human beings, it's important to know we belong in a society. Even if she's naive, it must have some kind of influence in her life. I can't see her plot some kind of retaliation against them, since it's totally not her theme.
Did the yordles change their opinion after Lulu became a champion?

OFF TOPIC:
Does the lore department have some kind of participation on the process of naming champion abilities and titles? I'm asking this because I don't understand why Zyra's title is the same as her passive. It kinda feels unoriginal...

Thank you for your time kitae. You're awesome

PS: Sorry for any error. English is not my first language.

cho'gath having freedom isn't scary, that man is quite the gentleman.

and i liked fiora's backstory, but it is lacking in what she does nowadays in damacia besides running up to others and yelling "1v1 ME NUB" :P

I'm personally not sure which lores need to be updated. If anything, for champs in general, I kind of want the lore team to be on the up and up about their reason for joining the League. Fiora is a good example. Her father was disgraced, and now she wants to stab people in their face. The update gives her a much better reason for joining the League and gives her more personality, more pompous arrogance. So I love that!

And in terms of relationships and so forth, I don't mean to push anything onto the table, but maybe you guys should take a look at the fanfiction forum. I mean, a bunch of us, and a bunch of talented writers, try making champion relationships. From love to friendship to the overall development of a character, so if you want to have an idea of what people think and have the time to read stories, I'd recommend checking out the fanfiction forum. Not sure if many reds read them, truth be told.

Anyhoo, keep up the good work, and know that I'll always be a supporter for LoL lore!
Yeah, I've been in the Fanfiction section of the LoL forums. Let me give you a minor hint at what it is.

GirlxGirl porn.

This is not character development, or connections. Its hormones going on overdrive. So help me, if I see one more Leblanc Lux story, I will blow a gasket.

Now, if you can show me decent fanfiction, in which the connection is actually viable, then maybe I'll support it. Other wise, its pathetic teenage dreams.
