An AP based on health item.

Hello!

In all my games, almost trying all champions, I realized that there is no AP based on HEALTH item.

Lets see:

Archangel Staff. (AP/MANA)
+400 Mana +25 Mana Regen per 5 seconds +45 Ability Power
Passive: 3% of your max Mana is converted to Ability Power. UNIQUE Passive: Each time your champion uses an ability their max Mana will increase by 4 (3 second cooldown). Bonus caps at +1000 Mana.

Manamune. (AD/MANA)
+350 Mana +7 Mana Regen per 5 seconds +20 Attack Damage
UNIQUE Passive: Grants Attack Damage equal to 2% of your maximum Mana. UNIQUE Passive: Each time you basic attack, your maximum Mana increases by 1 (3 second cooldown). Each time you use an ability, your maximum Mana increases by 4 (3 second cooldown). Bonus caps at +1000 Mana.

Atma's Impaler. (AD/HEALTH)
+45 Armor +18% Critical Strike Chance
UNIQUE Passive: Gain Attack Damage equal to 1.5% of your maximum Health.


After taking a look at this items, I think:

It would be great to AP chars to have an item that gives you AP based on health points!

Think of that, champions like nunu, akali, katarina, mordekaiser,(almost any AP champion) could take a lot of advantage of that kind of item.

And that's my personal opinion, I hope you considerer it and create a new great item!

Pd. Im tired of buying always the same items, instead of create more champions, you could create more items to different builds of any champion individualy.

Would be far to powerful on many champions. We'd have a rise of AP bruisers on our hands.

Too strong on no-mana casters like Kennen, Morde and especially Vlad with his loop of Health/AP

Also, Riot considers Mirror items to be unimaginative and boring and thus they have no intention to create even more of those.

Several reasons why this should not be implemented:

  • Too binary, it would either be too strong on a number of champions, or there would be no reason to take it over any of the current defense+ap items.
  • Riot does not like adding mirror items. They are only implemented in the few cases where ap (ability-power) and ad (attack damage) actually need the same requirements and are best implemented in the same way. Manamune only exists because there was a case that some ad champions actually needed a strong mana item, and Tear =>Archangel's was actually a good model.
  • The design aspects that influenced the creation of Atma's do not apply to ap champions. Simply put:
    -Mages have their own wide selection of ap+defensive items that are equally viable among virtually all mages.
    -Bruisers, ranged ad carries, and tanks are far more different.
    -There was a need for a physical damage+armor item. Atma's design was an optimal implementation of this. Ranged ad carries would have build up more scalars to use the attack damage and crit that the item provides more effectively, and bruisers would get something closer to an "equal benefit" because they have less physical damage scalars built up, but more health for attack damage. Atma's Impaler is still not intended to be a health-stacking item with this design, it was simply a very brilliant idea for making the item more balanced between the two archetypes that were to use it.
    -This type of disparity does not exist among mages to justify this type of design on an ap item. All ap champions have equal access to ap+defensive items, and can use them at will without sacrificing much damage at all. Ad champions must give up a much greater amount of potential damage to build up defenses, and bruisers often need to buy a few full defense items to survive in fights long enough to inflict damage considering that they are melee.

problem is u'll have tank mages cause of the item, the reason u can do it with ad is cause most of those champions end up building semi tanky in the end anyways u'll never seen atmogs on say a corki or ashe.

This was hinted at a while ago:
Dreadful Visage (Haunting Guise + Blasting Wand)
- 70 Ability Power
- 250 Health
- 20 Magic Penetration
- UNIQUE PASSIVE: Damage from your abilities reduce your target's Magic Resist by 5 for 5 seconds (effect stacks up to 3 times).
