It's not the client it's the launcher, it's a POS.

Open up your task manager AFTER you launch to game and kill the process lol.launcher.exe

Your fps will improve immensely. The only consequence is when the game is over you completely exit and do not return to the summary screen.

Amazing no one at Riot as found this obvious problem?

killing lolclient.exe fixed it for me. Still it's a pain having to restart LoL after every game

I'm stilling getting a fps dip during team fights, around 20-30 from a full 60.

Win 7 x64, 2.93 core 2 duo, 4 gb ram, gtx 260

I'm running almost the exact same setup (same except for CPU) and have the exact same problem.

Setting Launcher (LolClient.exe) to low priority in Task Manager worked for me.

It's a temp fix for me, but fps dips still happen, just not as often as before if I didnt lower it.

I guess my new thread might be related to this. I may have enough CPU power to bypass the lolclient's sluggish nature to not affect my actual ingame speeds. If I could remember what my uncapped frames were for the game I would uncap to see if they were still the same.

The client is really nasty though, regardless. I had to disable animations for the menu and bear with the otherwise slow/doesn't load chat.

But my gameplay is fine.
