Why aren't people good at every role?

For starters im a little over 1400 elo(just to put this in context)

So every game, ranked or not, people call out either what they want or what they are capable of doing. And most the time you are not blessed with someone who mains support so someone doesnt get the role they want. My problem is i always say what i want but do offer to the team that i can fill any role we need. As you could imagine saying that lands me in the support role a lot becuz lets face it its the least popular role. I personally love support and think its fun and to be clear im not only talking about people not being able to support but any role. I understand people have their best/favorite roles but how can you call yourself good at this game if you cant even play a role well. I trust myself playing multiple characters in multiple roles and cant stand wen someone claims they can only do two of roles.

Ive already seen this improve as i move up in elo but its just annoying that people arent as flexible as they should in the queue

im with you man. Every ranked game its like JUNGLE, AP MID AD CARRY and im always playing a support bot (which im really dont like) in sake for the team comp. And then the people who intslock and call are terrible at what they are suppose to do

For me, I can currently fill any role excluding jungle. Although, if my team absolutely requires a jungler, I do own Amumu, Nunu, and Alistar. So, I will improvise...just do not expect much out of me. Although, personally, I think that a bad jungler is worse than just not having one. Assuming you are not just letting the enemy jungler freely get those creeps.

I asked a more experienced player if I should start playing ranked at level 30. He told me that I should start ranked when I am decent at every role and have at least three champions for each role. In a normal game, if you can only play AD or AP carry...this is the time for you to branch out a little.

When I do start ranked games, I want to specialize in supporting. I just think it is better to have a support specialist be a support than someone who dreads the position. It increases the chance that the other players will get positions they are better at. As much as people say support is an easy role that is just a ward factory, I do take some pride in the role. You do not know how good it is to have a decent support until you have a crappy one. With my wards, I protect my AD carries from the enemy jungler ganks along with helping my jungler when he wants to go bot. I focus on calling MIA in the bot lane so my AD carry can focus on killing creeps and keeping an eye out for the enemy. I have clairvoyance so I can support top lane by giving him a "few seconds ward." I know it is an unappreciated job. My hope is that I will someday get in a ranked team that does appreciate me. Oh, and I do enjoy playing support. Although, I recently grown tired of Soraka. She makes the game...too passive. I wish my AD was a little more aggressive sometimes...

Sorry for the wall of text. I have a problem with that, I am trying to get better to please patient with me >.<

I just say "ad preferred" before I go into a queue, that way they know what I'm best with, but also that I can do anything else.

There's countless threads on people complaining of being stuck at low elo. The answer: carry themself.

Are u honestly wondering why nobody wants to play a role in which he has to trust his team to not be a bunch of loafless idiots?

Jungle is actually the least popular role in the game.

For me I can play pretty much everything but mid, like if my elo was based of how I play in mid I would probably be in the negatives. But generally if im 1st/2nd pick I go AD carry, if I'm last or 2nd last pick I'll go top or support, and I'll avoid mid as much as I can. I'm only an average jungler, so i only jungle when I have to but I would much rather support than mid.

Some players dont give a **** about others, and truthfully I reached my elo, currently 1766 with only playing top lane.

so, im in the same elo range as you. and im particularly good at mid and support. so, when i go into a ranked game, while i can fill any of the required roles, i feel as though i can carry better from my two aforementioned spots. as such, i'll enter and say "mid or support plx" but i think people should have one or two main roles, in which they have a variety of champs they play well, and then at least two champs or every role they dont main. when i get put top, i go tanky dps nidalee or nautalis, for example. so, i guess people dont have to be equally carry mode at every role, but rather have some champs that they can fill each role with, then have their main roles. in all reality, at a higher level, or if you have a team, you'll end up maining a role or two, which is simply the roles your going to be better at, just because you play them more. also, ask yourself this; if im at 1400 elo, and i main top, and i go against someone who merely filled the role because they had to, do i not have a higher chance of winning, and, by extension, would you not prefer to have the guy who called top go top, then the jack of all trades top?

also to those kids that say support is easy role, your stupid. some supports are easy to play, as are some mids, some jungles, some tops........ janna is a hard support to play by any means. she has skill shots, a shield that requires reflexes, and an ult that can win or lose games. not only are you responsible for protecting your ad carry in lane, and shutting down the other ad carry, you also have to have a presence in a team fight with often minimal defensive stats, and cc/ skillshots that you cant blindly fire into a team just for the dps. also warding, counterwarding, getting time on things like drag or baron.

i main support, and me and my ad carry run really aggressive lanes. whenever we see a soraka, we can almost always pull a first blood out of her. even though she is an easy champ, positioning, timing, and map awareness, and several other duties stated above are still all vital parts of one of the easier champs in the game.
point; the roles imparts difficulty, even if the champs are easy. sure you can passive lane v a passive lane, and do **** all through your lane except sustain the adc, but then again, is the role easy, or you not reaching it's potential?
