For thousands of years, the humans of the Kedresthai have lived in Valoran, hidden away in the mountains of the Great Barrier with their dragon bretheren, the Diarchon. For they are indeed kin to the dragons, their two kinds tied together by a blood bond born of ancient and terrible magics. Now, in an unprecedented move, the two tribes have decided to open their sanctuary to outsiders. This is a momentous event, both for the Kedresthai and Diarchon, and for the rest of Valoran.

---------------------------

Entrance to Arux

The climb up the mountain slopes is steep and treacherous, the path winding its way through the crags and cliffs. Once it finally reaches the top, travelers are greeted by a sheer stone face, a seeming dead end. However, those accompanied by a guide soon discover that appearances can be deceiving as the guide speaks a word in an ancient tongue, and then passes straight through the rock. On the other side, there is a system of caves, with a single sconce near the entrance bearing a lit torch. The guide uses it to light his own, before continuing on into the tunnels. After quite a few turns, it seems as if the guide has been going in circles, for the travelers end up at the same sconce they started at. Yet again, appearances prove to be deceiving, for as the travelers pass back through the rock face, the place they come out into is decidedly different from where they came.

The Kedren Plaza

Before them lies a large flat area of rock, with a stone fountain in the center and trees rooted in the few areas of dirt. The plaza is surrounded on all sides by large stone cliffs, with several channels running between them, leading away from the plaza to other ones farther in. The cliffs are dotted with doors and windows, with many carved walkways crisscrossing the stone surface and bridging the channels. The whole area is decorated in intricate carvings and masonry, exhibiting master craftsmanship.

But the plaza is far from empty. People busy themselves with their daily tasks, visiting shops and vendors, chatting with friends and neighbors. Children chase around the plaza, their laughter echoing off the stone around them. And all the while the pleasant bubbling of the spring as the water cascades down the fountain and into the pool below.

But the most wondrous of all? Dragons. One flies overhead, soaring between the stone walls of the channel to emerge in the plaza, alighting on one of the walkways. The children chase not each other, but a young dragon, who climbs up one of the trees to evade his pursuers. As the children try to climb up after him, he bursts from the branches with a grin, soaring over their heads to land and run in the direction they had come from, and the chase is on once more.

A few men in armor are posted around the plaza, most of them relaxing against the cliff face. The atmosphere is light and breezy, full of the bustle of everyday life.

The Lair of the Elder Dragons

Though not particularly long, the path to the lair of the Elder Dragons is treacherous, with sheer cliffs and surging rivers, rocky paths and slippery climbs. It is a right of passage for those who would one day lead the Kedresthai. However, in the interest of friendly relations, those foreigners who are granted an audience with the Dragon Elders take a different route. Beginning at the northeastern edge of the Kedren Plaza, a series of natural monoliths juts out of the earth, terminating at one of the larger peaks in this section of the mountain range. These stone columns have been linked together with heavy ropes, along which bridges have been strung. Each segment is quite long, and sways somewhat when the wind picks up, but they are sturdy enough to hold the weight of a dragon, so there is little chance of them breaking.

At the end of the bridges lies a cavernous opening in the side of a cliff, which leads deep into the mountain. The mouth of the cave continues on for a distance, then opens up into a massive cavern. In the middle lies a plateau of stone, which rises high out of a lake of magma. The lava casts a ruddy hue upon the rock, which glitters with large crystals of a variety of colors. Stone steps lead from the tunnel to the top of the plateau, and on the far walls several openings lead further into the mountain, where the Elder Dragons reside.

((Notes and rules:

- This is an Open, location-based RP, like the "Day in ______" threads.
- No Godmoding
- Inappropriateness will not be tolerated
- Please use this thread for purely OOC comments and questions
- Speaking of that thread, I have compiled a lot of relevant information in this post
- Filfire is co-GM for this RP
- If you would like to make a Kedresthai or Diarchon character, ask us in the OOC thread
- Minor combat is allowed, but it might bring the guards down onto you, depending on the situation. Anything too disruptive will be dealt with. There are also a few summoners present who can be called on in case of extreme situations, though it is unlikely the guards will not be able to handle it.
- Your character cannot sneak in, no matter who they are. These people have been hiding themselves from the outside world for millennia, even from the Institute of War.
- Have fun!

I will be probably be adding a couple locations as they come up. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, complaints, or suggestions, feel free to mention them in the OOC thread.))

(( http://summoners.shurelia.com/profiles/739 This should be fun, even if it is a one shot. Though I'd love to meet some of the people here. Jake is not human, but could pass for one. Anyone near him by the end of the post can see his face and will know that he is different. ))

Jake had been able to pass into Arux without lifting his hood and revealing himself. He hated the deception. He yearned to throw off his cloak and scream to the heavens that he was here, that he was ready to fall, and let the League take him. But he knew he couldn't. If the claims were to be believed, here was a civilization that has existed here for milennia with no one's notice, not even the Leagues.

As he stepped into the city, he looked to the sky as a dragon swooped by. He stepped aside out of the crown and stared up at the creature, stared all around him. He saw people, both those that had lived here and outsiders talking and interacting. They were execpted. Valoran was willing to except these people. He looked to the children playing, a few were outsiders yet they played and laughed as if there were no barriers at all.

Jake's hood fell back as he leaned against the wall behind him. And he cried. Years. Years of hiding, of running, of being so scared that you couldn't sleep at night. Every day of his short life, he had fought and struggled to protect his people, to drag them from the edge of extinction that threatened to swallow them all. But they had been there, the dragons. And they had survived, and now thrived.

As he silently cried, watching the children at play, he had found what had been lost to him years ago: Hope. If these humans and dragons can be accepted by Valoran, then they would accept his people as well.

As Jake cries and rests his metallic weight against the stone behind him a dragon flying in the distance notices the newcomer, who would hopefully be amongst the first of many. The dragon dives out of the sky, landing in one of the plazas further into the complex, then suddenly starts dashing towards the Kedren Plaza, its form turning humanoid without it breaking its stride. Once in humanoid form it races forwards, at one point bouncing between walls to avoid having to climb. Once in the Kedren Plaza the figure jumps, making a wide arc before landing in front of Jake, looking up at the larger figure with an expression of curiosity and confidence, its tail swishing behind it. To Jake's eyes it would look like the creature's movements were traced by streams of electricity.

"Hey, you're not a human. You look like your face got hammered out of a piece of metal."

The figure then shrugs and plants its thumb on its own chest.

"Ah well, not like I care. Name's Sarkin Liturnir. You're one of the first outsiders to actually have arrived here, so you better enjoy yourself. Didn't open our little utopia to the outside world so people could come here to weep. So, what's your name? You come here to be impressed by us dragons or what?"

Despite his rather straightforward attitude the dragon doesn't appear to be trying to be rude, instead just showing the kind of behaviour some cheerful people tend to show when encountered with somebody who is not in the best of moods.

Jake realized someone, or something, would soon be joining him and he watched as the dragon approached him rapidly. He examined him, studying a dragon in humanoid form for the first time. He had fought a half dragon once (sort of), though he had to deal with her in her full dragon form.He had always had an intrest in dragons, studying them from a young...no, HE hadn't. But another in him had.

Jake chuckles at Sarkin's comment, rubbing his eyes. "Well, my face looks that way because a part of it is. And the rest grew from me." He sighed then, smiling still. "I came here when I heard about you because my people are nearly extinct, worse then the dragons were, if the story I was told is true. I've ssttruggled for years to find a way for us to be accepted by the rest of the people of Valoran and thought it was impossible. But then I heard about you. You, and your people, are accepted by the people. and seeing it all..." He looked across the village, eventually going back to the playing children. "It gave me hope. If they can accept you, then there may yet be a chance for us."

Mountain Travel
Ares had run out of things to do in order to entertain himself and just when he was preparing to go cause a bit of trouble an opportunity presented itself. He heard tell of a journey to a newly found place that apparently even the purple men couldn't find, "Yay new friends!" he thinks as he silently follows the party to the bottom of a mountainous area. He jumps about ten feet in the air easily and does a quick spin in the air. He becomes a blur and then reappears in his natural form although his crimson hair stays the same.

"Weeeeeeeeee!" he screams out causing a flock of birds in a nearby tree to fly away in terror, He swoops over the heads of the travelers and flies towards the entrance landing gracefully becoming his human self upon landing. He looks around with a confused look on his face at the lack of a door, "Where is it" he whines while throwing a small tantrum by launching a jet of acid at a nearby goat leaving a gaping wound in it. he wipes his mouth and sits on a nearby outcropping of stone until the group appears and allows him in.

Arux

Once he steps into the sunlight Ares smile widens into a nearly frightening size before adjusting itself to normal human standards, He notices the food... um children running around and is careful to avoid making any bad impressions on his first day surrounded by his new friends.

Soul would come to a random clearing and sit on a nearby stone bench. He had spent years traveling the Freljord, trekking across the scorching deserts across the Shurima, and had gotten of the technological labyrinth that was Piltover, for he could not for the life of him figure where he was at that exact moment. In laymen's terms he was lost, really ****ing lost, after getting separated from the group of random travelers he was traveling with. He had spent a bit too much time suspiciously examining a goat with a large gaping acidic hole in its body and had barely made it before the pathway closed. Nevertheless he still ended up getting left behind.

As he sat in the plaza there wouldn't be much that would distinguish him from the other tourists... except for the white dragon hatchling that was currently chastising Soul from its resting spot on top of his head

As much as it annoyed her, Mizuhi had spent most of the trip here in her mortal form, carrying her daughter Thalassa in her fleshy human arms. She wanted to see this place for herself but didn't want to make a scene. She hadn't been around other dragons for very long and had no idea what customs were when meeting them.

She was guided through the entrance and as she laid eyes on Arux a small smile tugged at her lips. This place was too good to be true. Perhaps she would find more of Filfire's kin here, they seemed to be everywhere and nowhere at once. It had been quite a while since Thalassa had seen her father. She stepped to an open area as to not destroy anything. She was tired of this body.

With her body glowing a bright blue her form changed, growing vastly. As the transformation finished she stood tall, stretching her wings. Much better.

Thalassa, who had been place on the floor for the moment was anxiously watching the kids play tag.

Mizuhi bent her head down, the crystal embedded in her forehead glowing slightly and Thalassa climbed back up onto her mothers head. With a thrust of her azure wings she took to the sky, wishing to explore this formerly hidden place.

In the same area as Jake and Sarkin...

Up above in the clifftops, something chirped in curiosity. Avery tilted his head down towards where Jake was standing, the glint of his skin catching his eye. Oooh! Shiny! What is that? He would suddenly launch off the ledge he was perched on and dive down to the two of them. Instead of flying directly to his curiosity, however, he would bounce off of Sarkin once and then land on Jake's shoulders. The strange little dragon tilted his head from side to side, chattering as he noted his reflection coming from the metal.

"Hi! Hi! Greeetings~ -chirp- Gooo away~ Gooooooo away~♪ -Peep- Friend? Friend? Plaay~!"

Avery continued to spout some of the few words he actually knew, though it would start to become rather clear that he had little to no understanding of what he was saying.

Jake looked at Avery curiously. "Hey there little guy. Wait, wait what? You want me to- what?" Now he was just confused when an odd memory came to him. Parroting. He was parroting different words he had heard in the past. He held up his hand, rubbing Avery under shi chin. "lets start with your name. Name? Whats your name?"

Avery blinked once at Jake and continued to look at him curiously. Once he started rubbing his chin, the dragon let out a little 'plrrrr' sound and would tilt his head gradually to one side. When asked his name, he pulled his head away and ruffled his feathers a bit and chirped his rather rehearsed sounding answer.

"My name is Aaaavery~♪ What's your name? What's your name!?"
