The waiter nodded, "Of course, Miss Emily. If you could give me a drop of your blood, then perhaps I could actually infer your humanity." He reached over, and Emily's skirt disappeared, replaced with a pair of comfortable pants. "In regards to pants, here you are."

Lily clicked, "Okay, now that I'm sort of calming down, I'm starting to feel guilty. Emily, I'm really, really sorry. This sort of thing is sort of par for the course with Vince, and I actually don't know why that stuff was there."

The puppy yipped. Nina walked into the room, wearing her clothing from earlier and rubbing her eyes tiredly, "Wha's goin' on...?" She looked over at Emily, blinking a few times, "You haf a tail, Miss Emily..."

Her eyes snapped open, "You have a tail! What? How?!"

"Uh...So! Pft!"

"Most likely the truth, Miss Lily," the waiter replied.

Nina looked over at the waiter, taking a few moments before replying, "You're really familiar, mister...?"

"I am a waiter, little Miss. That is all. I looked over you just now and when I am asked to."

Nina stared at him with a puzzled look on her face. She then looked over and saw Master Tao. She gave him a deep bow and tried to speak formally, "Hello Master Tao. Doctor Y...Mister...Master Youay said you're training Vince..." She looked around, "Where is Vince? Where did dad go?"

"He went out a while go, sweetie."

"No, no...he was just here. Someone was...I thought...?" Nina was legitimately confused.

"Just a dream, sweetie. No need to worry."

The little girl pointed at Emily, "Is she going to be alright?"

"...Uh...Probably?" Was the best answer Lily could give.

-----------------------------------

Rose scowled at Aranoth, "Oh yes let me just vent out my rage on the next person I see. That will certainly help. I'm still bleeding, I'm still starving, and I'm still in a foul mood. Fine, next person I see will be my outlet." She cracked her knuckles, turned around, and saw a little girl in a cute uniform before her.

"Hi! I'm from Troop #346! We're selling cookies in order to raise funds for..." The little girl babbled on, talking about kittens and whatever else. Why exactly she would be selling cookies, at this time of night, in the middle of this area, for any reason at all, was a complete and utter mystery.

...So do I punch her because she could be a demon in disguise, buy cookies from her, or scold her for being out so late? Seriously, what the heck.

Ethelyn let out another squeak, instantly turning bright red at Tao's comment, and was barely able to form an audible sentence in reply.

"ᴵ⋅⋅⋅ ᵂʰ⋅⋅⋅ ᵂʰᵃᵗ⋅⋅⋅⋅ ᵂ⁻ʷᵉ ʰᵃᵛᵉᶰ'ᵗ⋅⋅⋅ ᴿᵉ⁻ʳᵉ⁻ʳᵉᵃᶫᶫʸ⋅⋅⋅⋅ ᴰᶦˢ⋅⋅⋅ ᴰᶦˢᶜᵘˢˢᵉᵈ⋅⋅⋅⋅ ᴬᶰʸᵗʰᶦᶰᵍ⋅⋅⋅ ᴸᶦᵏᵉ ᵗʰᵃᵗ⋅⋅⋅ ʸᵉᵗ⋅⋅⋅⋅ ᴹᵉᵉᵖ⋅"

She started nervously fiddling with the ring, and continued to do so as Nina entered. She glanced at the girl and remained quiet for now... She wouldn't be able to speak properly at the moment anyways.

----

Aranoth suddenly let out a roar of uncontrollable laughter in Rose's mind for several minutes before replying in a rather amused sounding tone.

Cookies! Definitely buy cookies from her!

He chuckled some more before continuing.

Then give her a hug and a pat on the head, tell her what a good girl she's been, and send her back to mommy... Or escort her home if you're so concerned about her well being.

Emily nodded and retrieved her knife. Carefully, and grateful for the relaxation spell that kept her hands from shaking, she moved to poke one of her fingers and obtain a drop of blood for the waiter, which she put on or in whatever he had for that purpose. Glancing at the hand, she nodded, too weak to yell further as her tail swished back and forth.

"I know, miss Lily. I know."

Smiling weakly, she turned to the still-tired Nina.

"I noticed, miss Nina. And it's complicated."

As Nina spoke to everyone, Emily began to glance around to a chair or somewhere to sit, though she didn't trust her legs to get her there and was probably more in need of the relaxing spell than she wanted to consider right now.

Tao smiled at her reaction.
"It's alright child. I am sure the subject will come up when your ready about it. And don't be afraid to take the initiative, the results may surprise you."
He looked over at Nina and returned her bow the best he could in the chair.
"It is true that I am working with Vince, though I would use the term training rather loosely myself. Youay tells me that your training is going very well and that he is amazed at your progress. Perhaps we can talk a bit more with some tea after things calm down around here."
He watched Nina go into the kitchen as he stood up and stretched, his old bones creaking as he did. He walked over to Ethelyn and smiled at her before talking to her quietly.
"Please take care of him miss Ethelyn, and accept him for who he is. It makes this old man happy to see that he is finally moving on and making new friends and family, I can rest in peace knowing that he is in good hands with you."
He reached up and squeezed her shoulder gently, giving her a small wink as he said out loud for everyone to hear.
"So anyone thirsty, I feel like having some tea myself. Is it alright if I brew some up miss Lily."
He smiled as he walked towards the kitchen.

Lucina gave out a bit of a sigh listening to everything. Once Emily had given the blood the small opening closed over immediatly. With Emily finally in pants she moved them over to a chair, sitting Emily down. She looked back over at the little girl, wondering if she was taking her life in her own hands, but just because she was young doesn't mean she should be given the run around.
"Emily was helping Lily with something, but in the process had to drink something that she wasn't meant to by accident. She will be ok, but we need to find a way to get rid of her tail and make sure she is ok, ok?" She said in a gentle and kind voice to the little girl.
"And my name is Lucina by the way. I am a friend of Emily's. Its nice to meet you!" She said with a wide smile to her, still maintaining her spells on Emily.

Ethelyn continued to blush, her eyes finding the floor to be more interesting than the person she was talking to.

"ᵁʰᵐ⋅⋅⋅ ʸᵉᵃʰ⋅⋅⋅ ᴵᵗ⋅⋅⋅ ᶦᵗ ᵖʳᵒᵇᵃᵇᶫʸ⋅⋅⋅⋅"

Her sentence quickly turned into incoherent mumbling. She didn't look up until he placed his hand on her shoulder, causing her to let out another quiet squeak before replying to him.

"I... Uhm... I... ⋅⋅⋅⋅ ᴵ ᵃᶫʳᵉᵃᵈʸ ᵈᵒ⋅⋅⋅ ᴼʳ ᵃᵗ ᶫᵉᵃˢᵗ⋅⋅⋅ ᵀʳʸ ᵗᵒ⋅⋅⋅"

She let out a quiet, nervous hum when he started walking towards the kitchen, clasping her hands around the ring tightly and biting her lip a bit.

Nina looked at Master Tao, smiling at him, "I'd like that, Mister...Master Tao. I can help make the t-"

"Nnnnnno. You won't. Master Tao? Avoid using the bag on the counter. Apparently it's primordial ooze solidified. Causes tails to grow," Lily clicked. "And that makes me sound completely irresponsible. Wonderful."

The young girl looked at Lucina, smiling at her for her explanation, "Would it be strange if I said I have seen weirder things here?"

"Yes!"

"But, ah...Okay. So long as she's gonna be alright. Thank you for telling me. I just wanted to make sure people were alright. I'm Nina."

"I was going to tell you, I just needed to calm down first." The hand whirred a bit before continuing, "And what Lucina said pretty much sums up the situation."

The waiter took the blood sample from Emily and promptly replied, "The good news is that your genetic structure has not changed. You are still human. What it essentially did, was elongate your tailbone and give it hair. You are still human, with a tailbone. That means your sense of balance should be tipping very soon, though. It will be a simple matter of a quick bit of surgery and proper healing to repair it. However, I would suggest not to do so tonight when you have already suffered enough."

The puppy yipped as if he were complaining. He wanted to be let down now and bite Emily's tail. If one could hear the dog's thoughts, one would hear, Bushy bushy bushy bushy bushy

Nina walked over to Ethelyn, "Um...Miss Ethelyn? I think you're Miss Ethelyn, from how Master Tao was speaking to you. I'm...I'm Nina. Um...I...I don't really like you, but if you make Master Youay happy, then you can marry him and I won't complain. I want him to be happy."

"Nina!!!" Lily clicked. "Inappropriate!" The hand waved an admonishing finger at the little girl, "She has a choice to marry or not!"

A few moments passed when the hand clicked once more, "And you also don't dislike her!"

------------------------

A minute later, Rose was standing in the middle of the street, a bloodied sword in one hand, a whip tied to her belt, and a box of cookies in her other hand. She luckily had a few spare coins in her small pouch secured to her belt. She went with what they called "thin mints". She wiped Aranoth off on her pants, sheathed him, and quietly started to eat the box by herself.

"So...I suppose I should go back to the lab and find Aydin."

The demon hunter sniffed the air, "I think I'm getting a scent from...that way."

Tao nodded as he set his staff down to rummage for some tea. Hearing the waiter he looked over towards them.
"I am sure Youay could take care of that for you miss. Magical afflictions and the like are one of his specialties."
He pulled out a bag and smiled.
"Ahhh yes, jasmine tea. This will do nicely."
He goes about setting up the water to boil pouring fresh water into the kettle as he set it to boil. He continued to prepare the tea, humming a Ionian tune while he worked.

Emily nodded, glad to be sitting down as her tail continued to swish back and forth behind her, where it had found its way through the back of the chair.

"Well, that's good news at least. And I think I'll wait until tomorrow to deal with it."

It meant that Sigmund would probably find out, but that was beginning to seem unavoidable, anyway. If he didn't pry too far into what had caused it, it should be manageable. But that was a rather large if.

Lucina chuckled. "That doesn't sound strange to me at all." She said with a smile. "Hello Nina. Thats very nice of you to see if everyone is alright." She didn't feel like any tea, not now. She seemed to nod at the waiters explanation and hearing it was good news. She patted Emily on the shoulder, but still continued to maintain her spells. Just not as strongely as before.
"Sounds like a good plan Emmy." She looked back over to the waiter. "Are we going to be getting in someone to work on that? Or are we just going to use the resources here?" She asked, not quite sure how they were going to work around that. The little girl was mentioned, but perhaps not necessary. Maybe they could get some outside help? She was somewhat distracted in her own thoughts to really notice what was going on between Nina and Lily, but giggled a little from what she was hearing.
