Then perhaps he needs some late game boosts.

I'm sorry. Perhaps I was unclear. If you think Mundo is not as good if not better than other heros in the game, at any stage of the game then:

"Mundo too strong for you"

Sorry for the confusion.

I've played a game recently where the person playing mundo had a TON of Health stack Items and some High HP regen items...it was like trying to take on Baron Nashor w/o the Uber uber Attacks.

Mundo, imo, simply falls into the same category as many other heroes - most notoriously Annie:

A very good hero with one blaringly horrific skill that holds them back from being truly on par with everyone else.

For Annie it's Molten Shield, for Mundo it's Burning Agony. If Burning Agony were made into a viable skill then Mundo would be an epic beast of terror - his cleaver is doom incarnate with good skill shots, a masochism crit with crit runes (we'll get them back someday) is still almost your guaranteed first blood and gives you a very nice damage boost all game, and his ult is simply unparalleled in utility - you spend five seconds out of battle you go from being near dead to ready to take a carry down. Let alone with a very reasonable CD you can pop it whenever you remotely need it, no need to hold back.

Burning Agony...just sucks horribly and holds Mundo back by making only 3/4th of his skills good. If that skill gets fixed Mundo would go from being "really good in the right hands" to "viable for anyone to play, an unstoppable juggernaut with an expert".

VERY TRUE, although I would argue it is useful for farming. Once you get his ult, just pop ba and run around the creeps until you get kills then harass an enemy a little then ult, and its like it never happened. but you are still right that it needs to be better

The problem with Mundo is that he is not doing very much. His presence is mediocre at best, with no real skill that could influence the flow of the match (the cleaver is really not that useful, early game is the only moment when it's ok). The fact that he has some survavibility does not help him in achieving greatness. It's fun to play but he's not a "must have".
Maybe if the cleaver would stun instead of slow then maybe he would climb a few steps in usefulness.

You're insane. The cleaver is awesome late game. Especially against a tank. Saying Mundo doesn't have a presence is like saying Yi doesn't have a presence. If you suck, then you aren't noticeable, if you are smart though, you smash faces in. Mundo is a great hero early game. He has crazy good ganking ability at sub level 6. He doesn't really slow down either. I find him to be particularly brutal at end game.

To everyone that says burning agony is terrible, you do realize it's 2.5 sunfire capes, right? It's a very good DPS boost. It'd be nice if it scaled with attack power, but i think mundo would go into the too powerful category rather quickly from that. I think that the nicest thing would be to take the cooldown off of it. then you could throw it on for the CC reduction when you need it and turn it off afterwards.

OK, everybody I have ever seen talk about Mundo raves about his cleaver. The usefull part of the cleaver ability is its slow, try running away when you are missing 40% of your move speed, it doesn't happen. Lets say that your cleaver is maxed out and you are fighting a Chogath with 6k life. One cleaver shot takes out 1500 life right? Wrong. it takes out 1500 - 80% because Chogath has mad armor. Your ultra-awesome cleaver attack just did 300 damage.

That freaking sucks.

If the cleaver did less damage but made it be something like true damage it would be usefull in more circumstances than chasing somebody down, but other than that its pretty much a waste of time other than one point for the slow.

If Cho'gath gets to be maxed out then so does Mundo, with Phantom Dancer and Atma's Impaler(along with Warmog's etc.) Those crits will hurt even for a geared tank, much more so for a non-tank.
