I've always started Cloth Armor and 5pots, could throw a ward in there too and sub out some pots because I always end up pushing hard with Olaf.

Then after a lantern usually I have no problems even when their jungler camps my lane 2v1.

Lantern -> Ninja Tabi -> Warmogs -> Atmas/Triforce usually GG.

talon with attack penetration, if cant take enemy out in early game, it will be lame facing the tank

Gangplank is one of the best. However, I don't see why Cho isn't working out for you. Cho'gath and Warwick are probably the two safest solo top picks. You're not going to own your opponent, but you're also probably not going to lose the lane.

Shen I think is one of the best buy choices because he works for jungle, support, and top. He also excels in all these positions and works really well for almost any team.
