This is a suggestion for a "sub-gametype". One can select it under "Dominion" as either "Blind" or "Draft".

Quote:
The constant battling in the Crystal Scar lead to the creation of a powerful dragon by the name of Desperos. Desperos protected the Crystal Scar from Noxian and Damacian alike for centuries. When winter approached, the beast retired to the center of the village to slumber. There he slumbered indefinitely due to his exhaustion. The snow and ice accumulated on top of him; trapping him forever. The unchallenged adventurers rumor "only a band of warriors so desperate could free him now."
Desperos begins in the center of Dominion in this sub-gametype. Unlike the original game, no one gains visibility of the center of the map and the map is covered in snow and ice. Despero's health-bar is light blue to represent ice and snow. Basic attacks chisel away at this "health" with no damage bonuses from things like lifesteal or critical strike. It is purely physical damage. When not being attacked, the health regenerates quickly from the accumulation of more snow and ice. Interestingly, damage done to Despero's frozen body is scaled by the health of the player's Nexus. A player with a full health Nexus will deal no damage to the ice or deal so little damage that it is quickly regenerated, but a player with a Nexus nearing death will deal nearly full damage. This goes back to the quote of "only a band of warriors so desperate could free him now."

Despero's spirit is freed when the ice is removed. He represents a ghost-like apparition of a dragon. He pledges immediate alligence to the team that removed the most ice, with the measurement being reset if the ice reaccumulates and stays maxed for so many seconds or minute(s). Despero will immediately begin flying toward enemy-controlled towers closest to his alliance's Nexus. Once there, he will fly in circles around them, quickly reverting them to neutral before seeking out another. Units (even friendlies) that Despero's moves through have their movement and attack speeds slowed dramatically. So preoccupied with restoring the Crystal Scar to neutrality, the dragon will fly from tower to tower unconcerned with attacking enemies (those not of his alligence.) Despero's new health-bar now represents his "afterlife". This will decay at a standard rate, but can be sped up by enemies dealing him damage. Once banished, Desperos will never spawn again for the same team.

The purpose is simple. "Desperos" is from English "despair". When you are nearing defeat, you can break the ice and get the spirit to neutralize as many points as possible to buy you some time to comeback. This is why the damage done to the ice scales with how low a team's Nexus is. One player alone can not break the ice either. It requires a team effort to combat the regeneration. Despero's spirit can only be called once per team and his corpse will only be visible to a team that hasn't already removed him from the ice. More than one spirit can be called to the battlefield, though they will have red or green tints and health-bars to distinguish them.

What say you?

I say we need ranked and not to split the Dominion population arbitrarily.

Sounds interesting but it will extend the gameplay - and I think that the shortened Dominion game duration is what they were aiming for in the first place.

Agree. Interesting but unnecessary. We don't have enough dominion players as-is, & it would be hella-pain to try to balance that.
