This kind of thing can be done in dota, but not in LoL. You cannot shut down heroes in LoL nearly as hard. Passive gold gain is much higher and no gold is lost on death making owning one lane at the cost of losing two a bad proposition. Dota also allows this more due to creep pulling and denying which let you control lane position much more as well as further damage the enemy champ. LoL just really isn't built for this particular type of variety.

If you are going to overload a lane, you want to overload top or bot (bot preferably). It's much much easier to zone them out of exp, and if you do it to bot lane, you are zoneing 2 people out of exp, not just 1.

I played three mid and won. This is how we did it: You can't stick to three people staying mid all the time though. Whenever the opportunity arises you need swap the lowest level player to another lane. The once the first tower is gone all push mid.
