They both absorbed Void energies into their bodies...they both have a connection...they both can manipulate space...

I think it's a tie. But the rioters should make a special course just to test JUST this.

EFFECTIVE power, including all resources available to them? Probably Malzahar and his cultists. Kassadin's a lone wolf whose entire skillset is based around taking down void-beasts like Malz and Cho, though, which is important to note. In a flat-out fight, Final Destination No Items etc., Kassadin would probably come out on top if he was only fighting Malzahar, though Malzahar's skillset is less focused, allowing him to deal with a wider range of possibilities. Lore-wise, Kass is supposed to be a specialized anti-mage, so Malzahar would be in trouble. However, Malzahar is a really strong mage and a seer, and this allows him more versatility in combat.

As far as the Moving and Shaking of Valoran, though, Malzahar has more influence. Kassadin is really only known as a League Champion and something of a wild dog akin to Shaco and others like him, seeming to just pop up and murder people now and then. This leaves him as kind of a lone wolf, who can exert little influence beyound, y'know, murdering people he deems a threat now and then.

Malzahar, comparatively, has an entire cult of followers to do his bidding. Needless to say that's a useful thing for a crazed doom prophet to have.

Wasn't Kassadin also said to have a following in lore?

i guess this question comes down to how u see karth's involvement in the matter. either malz is much more powerful than kass and kass needed the help of karth to save him, or malz and kass are evenly matched and karth just got in the way. personally, my guess is the 1st one. kass and karth are both people that, through odd circumstances, gained power and use it to go against the void. karth might just as well prefer to kill the void so that his army can take over instead but either way, he still wants the void dead, and thats enough for kass to partner with him imo.

malz also has much more potential than kass. kass is only as strong as his mutations allow. he has no room for growth. he absorbed the void's power and conquered it to take control. he has no means of gaining more power unless he repeats the process again. malz, however, is an ally of the void and can draw from it willingly, as well as draw companions from it. if given the chance, he can bring about a new void army.

People who similarly want to fight the void; not followers. Big difference there, he can't exert influence over them like Malz and his cultists.
