Loss forgiven?

Im pretty new around here so forgive me if this seems very obvious to answer I just want to make sure that.. it is what I think it is...
I was going through my match history and amongst my few wins and several losses I came across this one that said, Loss forgiven. Is it really that simple? Is it really all that is? Or is there something more to it then that...
And if so...
Why would a loss be forgiven? or how?

It's a mechanic used by Riot when the game is unstable e.g during maintenance . It's so you wont receive losses because you or someone on your team disconnects because Riot's server is unstable.
