Consider removing penalty for leaving ranked champion selection screen

Dodging a queue is at most a minor inconvenience to the other players in queue. However, being forced to lose rating when there are obvious trolls in your queue does not seem fair. It's well known that there are people at various rating ranges who find it fun to try and make their team lose intentionally. Yes we can report these people, and they'll hopefully be banned, but it would also help if players could leave queue when one of those people appears without having to suffer a rating penalty equivalent to a loss anyway.

It's not just the obvious trolls either, especially at lower ratings. People argue over who gets mid, make terrible champion picks in spite of advice given to them, etc. Allowing players to get around such people without penalty would make the ranked solo queue experience much much better.

The thing is... if someone banns a champion, and the opponent dosnt like the ban, they will imediatley dodge with not much penalty -.-, and thats why Riot dosnt want to remove the penalty.
It also will let the trolls more troll with no penalty...waits till last second and then dodge -.-

If you remove the penalty, it'll get just as bad (if not worse) than Normal Draft pick. Never seen so my dodgers in my life.

There is a middle ground, called 1 free a day, or 2 free a day.

So you can get out with time penalty still, but without losing ranking twice a day.
That gets you out of those OMG eve, twitch and teemo great this will work games.

But keeps people from just jumping ship all day.

A compromised version is probably the best idea. Or even if you don't have a hard limit on number of allowed dodges per day, just make the lockout period for requeuing much longer than that of a normal game, like 30 minutes or something. I think most people would rather deal with a mildly annoying troll dodger once in a while than having real trolls in their ranked games making them lose.

You obviously weren't around pre-dodge penalty. It was far worse than normal has EVER been, because at least in normals you still have to wait post dodge. I once had to wait twenty-five minutes to actually go from champ select to game... Never again... *shudders*
