I still think it isn't fair...
and what is the point of some of these teams remaking the same exact team 15 times, and playing only 6 games to get their teams to the top 10?.. So dumb.

This system seems way too abusive.
Shouldn't Team Elo just be Team Elo? This is way too complicated.

Why is this upvoted? It was stated that there is a team elo and hidden personal elo that can affect team elo on the formation of new teams. The question this red either missed or is being deliberately obtuse about is why aren't people shown the hidden personal elo.

That's the very point. If you're a top player, you have to prove it first to the system by grinding with your team. Once your hidden rating is high enough, you will start at a higher point with another team.

It may seem unfair, but it prevents lame high Elo players from "team smurfing" to stomp lower teams (just like lvl 30 players create new accs to stomp beginners), AND it allows the same players to get several teams at a higher rating quickly (for example players who have a widely known team and are part of a national team, or players who want to start a new team, etc.)

And it allows you to start somewhere close to your true Elo and play against people who have the same skills.

Hidden rating != Elo.

Your personal "hidden rating" affects your team's Elo (which is meaningful as it directly shows your current position in the ladder). Since it's a personal score in the "premade bracket", it can't be used to compare 2 players, as opposed to the team's Elo, and as such should remain hidden.

It's actually important, since there is a bug if you can see anything related to your team's rating before the seeding process is complete. As for rating adjustments after each game, those are affected by how many games your team has played, the rating of the team you play against, and the outcome of the game.

The described case does seem out of whack, but the claim seems a bit suspicious since you shouldn't see the adjustments in the provisional phase anyway.

The changes I previously mentioned will help with making this scenario less likely.
