Welcome to LoL: where slows are slows, snares are slows and roots don't exist.

Seriously. What is so hard about using well-established MMO terminology?

Rooted: immobilized but can still act

Snared: movement speed lowered

Slowed: attack speed lowered

I was greatly disappointed when Riot "updated" the tooltips on CC effects recently, when in actuality all they did was remove any kind of specific terminology for said effects. Don't they realize this just makes things more complicated, not less?

"Tryndamere, lower Ashe's movement speed post-haste!"

where did u even get ur so called "well-established MMO terminology"?

Been playing various MMOs since 12years ago, and there's always differences in what each of this means in the games.

I've played games where
"Slowed" = Attack Speed and Movement Speed decreased
"Snared" = Immobilized, can still attack/cast spells
"Rooted" = Immoblized, can't cast spells/attack
some also have
"Crippled" = Movement Speed decreased
"Dazed" = Spells takes 2x time to cast

Ok first off the term rooted came from EQ where there was a spell called ROOT. Root leaves you immobile but still able to cast and attack. The same game had a spell called snare that slowed movement speed.

So yeah, long established MMO terminology Root means: cant move but can still act and snare means : movement slowed.

In what game has rooted EVER meant you cant attack or cast? Thats called a stun by MMO terms...
