Marcou claimed he was involved in the initial decision to order an extra set, was he lying? If not, why won't Riot take responsibility for this decision?

Its a 3-day ban, and Regi handled the situation very poorly. Reginald deserves a 3-day ban.

However, he and CDE deserve some sort of apology and compensation for this whole debacle. Stop focusing on firing Marcou and appealing to a crappy martyr and make a call for Riot to make amends for this debacle to team CDE as a whole and to discipline Marcou as THEY see fit, as well as confronting WCG and telling them that they will not stand for scandals like this in the future.

Then at least Admit that a Riot official made a mistake.
We made a number of mistakes here. Largely- - not properly setting up the expectations with our players, and not properly setting up tournament organizations with the right advance guidance to create success.

In this instance a series of poor communication choices were made which ultimately led to a lot of frustration. In the future we intend to hold tournament providers to a higher standard - ensuring that our player-focus is properly represented on anything we put our name on.

The rules themselves, and the interpretation thereof in this case were WCG's rules and WCG's interpretation.

He did not accurately represent the facts of the situation. He was not involved in the decision itself, or the call - but once the WCG had already had a course of action planned he was contacted for advice.Ultimately his recommendation to them was to make a decision in alignment with the rules - which in this instance were unfortunately unclear and a cause for much of the controversy.

But when the WCG 'could go either way' on the the US finals, Marcou advised them to require an additional set. This advice was unfair and wrong which is why the community is upset and blaming ya'll about it.

So you guys are basically throwing the blame about how screwed up this event is to WCG. However, you guys chose to use WCG as a medium for professional tournament play in the first place, so I'd say you guys are still responsible for allowing such an irresponsible and unprofessional group host important LoL tournaments.

I don't want to disparage the WCG, but I will say that this event has definitely caused us to more closely scrutinize the relationships that we have with tournament providers. We want them to be able to operate autonomously without our help - but at the same time we want to provide them with tools and an environment in which they can be successful.

This is your decision to make. Matt Marcou admitted live to 15,000+ people that he made the decision and the WCG organizer claimed that they would go either way on the ruling based on his input. Please see begining at 1 hour 11 minutes and approximately 30 seconds: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zl0DqvmyXzw

This is Matt Marcou claiming that the WCG organizer approached him to make the final decision on the ruling, literally meaning that this was Riot's decision.

@Pendragon Why was Jatt allowed to play for USA when he was already representing Canada when the rules clearly stated that you cant do that?
