Can you build your own PC? If so, here's one of the best combo deals on the market, well within your price range.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.757229
Get a copy of your operating system of choice and you're good to go.

If not... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883155212
It's a Dell, which I personally can't stand, but it's in your price range and vrey decent. Get a quality graphics card and go crazy.

Focus on video card mainly. And you can get a Geforce 9800GTX, which still plays most current games near max settings, for like 50$
Get an i3 or i5 processor and 4-6gigs ram and you're good to go.

I don't know why people focus so much on processor, ram, etc when the video card is the most important thing. You could have a six core at 4GHZ and 20 gigs ram, but it wont mean **** if you have a geforce 8100....

I just bought a Lenovo desktop. 1TB, 6GB Ram. Runs at 30FPS at max everything but shadows. Pretty decent. Runs at 20 FPS when I'm streaming. Only $450

lol yeah i had to pay 99 dollars for an OEM version of win 7 for the hardware that's coming in the mail sometime this week but oh well. This will be my first build and I'm pretty stoked on it. Everything came to about 800 though. Bet you could do like 400 for the case and hardware though..might be worth it to save a little more and then you'll be able to run LoL at like 100+ fps and d3 or any other upcoming games with max settings at like 50-60 fps too. Apparently my build would be able to run Crysis at like 40fps on max and that's supposedly the most demanding game out there now..regardless of me not being interested in fps games haha.

that custom build uses the GPU build into the motherboard so i dunno how good your fps would be on games.

I believe the custom package came with an ATI dedicated card--at least it did two weeks ago when I was looking at it for myself. XD
