Why don't people build warmog? You can tank early game for your team with your passive, and deal decent damage with your skills + your passive. Late game, you can still deal heavy damage. Yorick is not weak late game in term of damage. After warmog, atma, with a zeal you can crit regularly, the damage is almost like a real dps.

Later you can buy atmag, which give you more defensive as well as offensive power.

Mana is NOT an issue, since you may die before you're out of mana, or you always have mana supply.

My runes:
- Red: Armor Pen
- Yellow: Armor
- Red: MR
- Quint: 2 health+1 ArPen

>>building attack speed on Yorick outside of a POSSIBLE triforce

No.

Your ghouls scale of attack damage and health. The more health you have the longer they last. So you don't need to cast them as often. Going for 40% cool down isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Ghouls have a 1:1 armor pen ratio. Ghost blade isn't the worst idea. If you are going CDR.

If you check the charge on manamune or tear. You'll note the game generally ends with it roughly at 600-700 hundred. Making it not cost effective on dominion.

Experiments. Example-cool down boots, frozen mallet, atma, OV. Sounds viable.

You're main stats to build to be effective are health and dmg though.

The ghouls lose 20% of their hps per second, your life total doesn't affect that duration.

Also, are you sure about them getting armor pen from you? Others have indicated differently.

Black Cleaver + Stark's Fervor = 65 max armor reduction to enemies = super-efficient ghouls - obviously best build [/Trollface]

I get the trollface, so no downvote for you - but that reminds me: why the hell do so many other people seriously suggest arpen?

HE DOES PRIMARILY MAGIC DAMAGE. HE DOESN'T AUTOATTACK CONSTANTLY. It just... ugh.

You're so bad, it hurts.

W's and E's initial hits are magic, but the damage from the ghouls for the next 5 seconds are physical. Q is all physical. R is all physical. W is the only ability that scales with AP. E, even though it's a magic hit, scales with AD.

No one suggested AP, you colossal tool.

(and ghouls mostly scale AD/health, with ms/defenses based solely on Yorick's level. They don't generally get off THAT much melee damage unless opponent is dumb and just stands there, so arpen is a little meh on them; they benefit more from actual AD helping their showing during the short timeframe they exist. Yorick proper gets very little benefit from arpen; again, his abilities do almost all magical damage and he doesn't do that much with his own autoattacks. AD is amazing on him; arpen and AS are not.)

EDIT: and ghoul's don't apply onhit effects, so they get zero benefit from black cleaver. masteries/runes and flat arpen can do stuff but AD runes add more for him anyways.

Their time taking no damage is not increased, but the amount of damage they take is. Therefore staying alive longer. I should've explained better.

Yes, riot had posted in general I believe in response to someone else's post that minions have a 1:1 armor pen ratio with yorick. I'm not sure if items, like entropy active, effect this.

Just wanted to say that Black cleaver can significantly increase your damage. In fact it might be the most damage increasing item you can get. The thing is, usually a teamate gets it for you. Your ghouls do quite a bit of your damage. They have .35 scaling AD so if you have 3 up that means they are dealing 1.05 AD ratio. Now if the rest of your build is tanky with Atma and health items (doesn't have to be wyrmog) Then they will generally get off 2-3 hits in a fight. That turns their ratio into a possible 2.10 - 3.15. To top that off since you usually aren't getting arpen as Yorick, since Arpen doesn't help him much, the armor reduction from black cleaver increases your damage output A LOT. Starks on the other hand I don't reccomend getting because you need to be tanky and it provides no AD which you also need.

His minions are used for some burst damage and a bit of dps. However, that's not the main use. The main use of minions is to buff yorick damage (5% for each) and make him tankier (5% for each). Another additional use is to tank damage from heimer's turrets.

ArPen benefits him, since his kit is ultimately for synergising with his dps. He deals almost as much damage as pure physical dps, even if build tanky. At least, his dps output is much more higher than champion like Garen if he builds tanky (atmog+tri-force). Tanky dps and cooldown reduction is the way to go. If you don't build atmog, at least build dps items with 1 defensive item. Manamune build is useless on Dominion. How many time have you maxed out the bonus? I maxed out the bonus on warmog every game I play Yorick (generally at the mark 10 min). If I join team fight and got kills and assists). Each kill or assist grants 45 health + 1.5 HP/5, so you only needs 10 assists after you get warmog to max it.

On the other hand, physical damage runes are less useful, especially at late game. If you rely on his skill set to deal damage, you're doing it wrong.
