What is the best way to optimize the amount of IP you get, or does it not matter?

Go for long games.Since the IP boost doubles the amount of IP you would normally earn if you play for 50+ minute games you can maximize your IP.

Basically, play Normal games. Don't play Co-op if you want to maximise income, nor should you play Twisted Treeline or Dominion.

I believe the per win boost gives a flat amount per game, regardless of length. Either way though, prolonging a game you have in the bag is a sure way to allow the other team to catch up. Once they catch up and win, you've actually lost out on significant IP trying to gain piddly amounts.

They give a flat amount for every game type.

Normal: 140 or something close

Ranked: 150

Dominion: 80

Co-Op vs ai: 50

so playing a co-op game will only give you 50 extra IP for the win? I'm guessing this is from a level 30 standpoint?

I wouldn't be so sure that it's only from a level 30 standpoint, but everything else he lists seems to make sense. The lower amounts in the quicker game modes would be to prevent players from just "IP Farming" all their 10 wins from 15-minute Co-op games, but it doesn't punish you for doing a 20-minute normal game since you don't necessarily go into a Normal game knowing you'll be able to kill it in that short time frame (if you're actually playing to win)

Just got 145 IP from the boost for playing a 23 minute normal game on TT...so I think I'm going to spend all my boost there. Those games are short and give normal IP.
