My thoughts on the Dominion game mode

Here are my first impressions of the new game mode, Dominion -- and some suggestions.

One of the first things that I've noticed is that some of the characters appear to be more suited to this game mode, while leaving out others. I understand that each champion has strengths and weaknesses, The game play seemed to favor "tanky dps" types of characters, and completely left out support characters.

This brings me to my next point, which is that those of us that are support specialists are fairly well left out of this game mode. The flow of the game favors high mobility, high HP/DPS characters.

Also, while I've been watching videos and reading about Dominion, I'd thought that what I was seeing was more slow paced, tactical game. While I do see that there are plenty of people that LOVE the new game mode, including many of my Outfit (the PlanetSide equivalent to a "Guild" in most RPGs), this play style is just too fast-paced for my tastes.

As far as the last point there, I would like to challenge the League of Legends developers to also create a game mode being similar to Dominion's "Capture and Hold" style, but for more lengthy, strategic matches, where each character type has a major role in the resulting flow of the game. Perhaps this could include more players, or another thought that you may use in the story allowing 3-way battles.

Anyhow, I do appreciate the amount of effort that went into the new game mode, and hope that perhaps later when I try it again, I will enjoy it more -- even finding a place for my usual champ, Sona.

Indeed , there should be 2 modes to this map.
1. Advance Mode- How the map is now with 3 levels in the beginning nothing changed
2. Long Haul Mode- No levels added less money.

In long haul you really need to depend on minions to help push to the next tower and the games last a bit longer. This should also help out the players that love support characters.

Also, after some further thought, I noticed that the minions in Dominion really don't mean anything at all. You can completely bypass enemy minions, capture the control point, and new allied minions spawn taking care of the former enemy minions.

A further thought for the more strategic mode - make minions much more important, with a larger map (preferably much larger, say 2x the size of summoner's rift)

All of what you have said is exactly what Riot was aiming for when they designed Dominion.

Also, I feel that the patch, that weakened healing and buff support damage, was aimed at making support champions more compatible with Dominion than just balance.

As for Dominion being dominated by damage/health champions, I feel that is more due to the lack of a solid meta-game. Once things start to cool down and a general meta-game is built: I feel that support champions will start to be wanted and used.

Right not it is mostly just a chaotic dash grab for control points; what is better than damage and HP for such a tactic?

I would like a second mode for longer games though.
