How to Win at Dominion: Control the Windmill

Control the god **** windmill. Stop suiciding into the enemy base to control one of their turrets for about 10 seconds. If you take their base turrets, they will respawn insanely close and take it back. The key is obviously to control three turets at all times. Why try to control turrets that are tougher to control?

Obviously if no one is there defending feel free to backdoor it but it's maddening watching people suiciding to try to take their base turretsmeanwhile the enemy is dominating us by controlling their two turret and the windmill.

This reminds me of my CoD playing days. When playing domination NEVER take all 3 points, instead let them have one point and trap them there for the whole game. I think this tactic works in dominion aswell. In the case of dominion it's letting the opposing team have 2 and your team have 3.

I had one game where this worked. The rest of the time though it was REALLY hard to keep them pinned down. This was with a premade team also...

Dont think it works the same way because COD spawn points start to swap when you have all 3 flags. This makes it harder to spawn lock and keep track of where your enemies are.

In Dominions case, if you take all the capture points, they are still stuck on the same side.

Reminds me of Arathi Basin. We'd have 3 for 20 minutes, then people got greedy and ****ed up and got farm, but then lost LM and BS. 5-capping is fun, but it doesn't always work.

Watched Wicked, his team traps the enemy team in base for a 10 min win. Control their base control the entire map. He did it like 3 times in a row.

If you bought the November issue of PC gamer, there's some good advice on team comp in there. The roles are just changed from the typical tank/ad carry/ap carry/support. Instead you have champs that are good at at ninja'ing points, duelists, defenders, and CC specialists.

I highly doubt picking all defenders and just sitting on those three points is guaranteed to win you the game. Points will change hands, so its best to just have a variety of champs which can handle any situation.

Backdooring IS viable however when the opposing team has full control of the Windmill, or when you have nothing to lose. This is exactly what I did in my second game as pantheon. I soloed the area around the windmill with my team's relic, anyone en route to the area or my top inner point would be worrying less about wells.

Later in the game, when it was 15-100 or so my entire team all went mia and decapped points while I mandropped on the still contested windmill. 3-0 yeye.
