Alright, I'm pretty sure we can all agree that what happened to our manly barbarian is ridiculous. There are plenty of threads that are about how or why Tryndamere is so bad now.

This thread, however, is about experimenting with different builds and thinking outside of the box. If RIOT does not do anything about the current Tryndamere, then we have to do something about it ourselves and that's experimenting with different builds, runes, and just general concepts.

According to most Tryndamere players, Tryndamere was played as a late game carry, heavily relying on items like Infinity Edge and phantom dancer. Or even according to the 2K ELO Tryndamere player Z3rg3m3n, Tryndamere was a mid-game champion who instead focused on using Black Cleaver for that early game advantage. My idea now is that all of that is out the window and maybe there are different items and different stages of the game that we need to be focusing on.

I haven't done much experimenting yet, but I will try to and I will update this post with info. All other Tryndamere players, feel free to post what you've got and maybe (hopefully) the players can change this character back around. Maybe the current Tryndamere isn't "Tapped" yet so to speak.

Hmm. Interesting take. You're right that he's no longer viable as an AD carry. He doesn't have any magic damage or good enough AP based damage to justify any sort of caster (let alone the fact that he doesn't use mana).

He has a semi-reliable crit chance generation, provided you can mitigate harassment, so complementing that is at least a bonus. At 35%, it already meets that criteria, so IE is effectively a luxury item. This is based on rage generation, so attack speed is a must; however, they didn't buff his natural attack speed as far as I know, so he'll have to settle for less than max, most likely. He has a weak heal that is based on AP, quite well, so some AP should be considered, in order to make it a decent heal. He has the ability to debuff enemies' attack damage, but benefits from loss of health in terms of physical damage - this too should probably be counted as a bonus; however, if we get IE, that bonus does get to be somewhat noticable, provided he crits enough 50%+ should be okay for counting it as bonus damage.

Since he lacks the physical damage of an AD carry, and is supposed to be optimized for the jungle, perhaps Madred's should be considered? Rageblade could also be a good item for semi-snowballing attack speed. If he's concerning more with magic damage, and needing still more attack speed, perhaps Malady could work. Sword of the Divine, Wit's End, or Executioner's Calling could be a good fourth item. Since Crit and attack speed are not very good paths for him to pursue exclusively, perhaps armor pen/reduction should be considered, as he still does primarily physical damage. He also now Needs to max out his CDR, but if he specs caster masteries for 9% CDR, another 1% from runes, and 10% from pots, then Blue should cover the other 20%, which he'll get since he's jungling.

Therefore Ghostblade should be avoided, but if Blue cannot be reliably retained, and more than 10-20% is really needed, perhaps Morello's Evil Tome could be of service. The mana regen would be wasted, so maybe Nashor's Tooth would be better as it also gives attack speed. In any case, since he's jungling, lifesteal may be something to consider as well, in which case Stark's could be a good option, especially since it reduces armor as well.

So far that's (boots), Madred's, Malady, Cleaver, Stark's, IE, Morello's/Nashor's, SotD/Wit's/Exec. If there's a lot of armor (and at higher Elo's there should be, just to mock Tryn), then Cleaver may need to be replaced with Last Whisper if they have more than 120 armor on average.

With this kind of build, Tryn might now fill the role of a weak off-tank, courtesy of his ultimate, in which case cleans might be a summoner spell to consider. In any event, he should still run exhaust for the armor and mr reduction it invokes.

Honestly though, this sounds like a build that would work better on a number of other champions, like Warwick or Kog'Maw.

I thinking a build of something like...

Boots, Infinity's Edge, Phantom Dancer, Hextech Gunblade, Guinsoo's Rageblade, Youmuu's Ghostblade/Last Whisper

Obviously, that's not necessarily the build order, but something like that seems like it has potential.

Well I tried Tiamit on Tryndamere just to see if him getting the splash damage would increase his fury bar even more from hitting multiple enemies in one swing. Didn't work though.

150% ap on his heal now and 100% ap on the spin of doom... maybe an ap/dps build now?
idk deathcap, socrceres shoes... phantom dancer... infi edge, rageblade, bloodthirster? take 22/0/8 masteries for atk and spell dmg... with extra exp gain? then armor pen red, armor yellow, magic pen blues and ap quints? just making this up on the spot... never tried it... use to love trynd kinda stopped in the past few weeks tho

tryn is for nubs. he can still do the build he used before his rework. his difficulty is in medium - should be in nub easy range. press r and rape whole team for 7 seconds.

all his damage is physical though so regardless of ap build or not magic pen is completely wasted
