Lucky enough all you have to do is be awarded more honor from your fellow players and your ribbon will return. Seeing as you have earned it once, I don't think it should be a problem to achieve again
The problem is that nobody seems to honor anyone any more... People forgot about it since they don't see anybody with ribbons any more.

You more than likely haven't hit the threshold to obtain the ribbon. The number you see on your profile is actually the number of people that have honored you not your honor value. Your honor value depends on what sort of players are granting you honor. Being honored by a player you've just met will have greater weight than being honored by a friend you play with all the time or that you have queued together with. Also, if you are being honored by players who grant honor very frequently, their honor will be less valuable than players who save their commendations for only those who are a shining example of the Summoner's Code.

Lyte has already made several posts stating that they plan to make changes to the honor initiative. The system at the moment is flawed and usage has severely decayed. At high levels of play (Plat and higher) ribbons basically don't exist. Most ribbons are found on players that stick mainly to bot games and arams. Also lower level players tend to have more ribbons as well.

IMO, Honor is a waste of Riot's resources. Nobody goes into a game, especially not in the more competitive Ranked games, and thinks, "Oh boy, I sure am glad I have 3 people with Honor Ribbons on my team." Honestly, it really isn't worth putting the effort into because not only is it reliant on the assumption that the players you are playing with/against are not scumbags, but it also requires that they actually bother with giving something that, for the most part, is meaningless. Honor ribbons really aren't the way Riot should be going with "rewarding" players for positive behavior. As I think Lyte has suggested they wish to do more of.

Now, if there was a thing such as getting +1 RP/amount of small extra IP per win in normals/ranked 5's or queued game types for people that have ribbons, (could be adjusted by average game lengths) there'd probably be more incentive for people to get the ribbons, but a ribbon is a ribbon and most people don't care about it anymore.

Hey Rhojin, I've earned all the way up to Great Leader crest. But since the update to honor it's slowly gone back down to green. Now all I see is green. And I'm honored in just about EVERY game I play. So how come I don't have anything higher than green? =[

EDIT: For reference my honor is 54/21/223/147

Doesn't feel that great to lose your ribbon. Its common to lose them. I understand the merit of having to 'stay honorable,' but I don't think you should award ribbons at all if they can be taken away for no reason.

Personally, I stopped caring about those stupid ribbons a long time ago.

Yes, I feel like I've earned the "losing ribbon" due to how many ranked losses I've incurred lately. Riot please apply this ribbon to my profile at your discretion.
