Yah, both links are broken.

From light googling it looks like fresh out of college physicists make around 55-65k a year and have abysmal employment rates. The credibility of these sites is questionable and it only includes US averages.

Right. Don't you have to be a grad student or pHD to be a lecturer... That doesn't count as "out of school". Also that's still not a realistic representation of what you'd make.

Who would do a Maths or Physics degree and not get a PHD.
I mean unless you're becoming a high school teacher.
The whole point of studying theory is so you can be the the next one in line to join the dots, and make future leaps.
Not work a day job.

Really?
Do you mind me asking what were their intentions when studying Physics or Maths.
And whether what they are doing now reflects it.

Their intentions -- they liked physics
what they are do now does not reflect their intentions, nor does it have anything to do with physics.

One became a risk consultant for a NYC firm
The other became a programmer for a financial firm
Oh, and one of their classmates joined Microsoft's non-programmer programming trainee programs after graduation.

the reason they did this was because "i wouldn't have been able to find a job otherwise"

Fair enough.
Well I believe that if you wish to do something in theory, you study isn't done till you've completed your PHD.

And on a slightly related note, Adam in currently making $1200 a week recording results in a lab.
He just finished 2nd year. I think that's pretty good.
