Morals, ideals, laws and all that stuff may set us apart, but every city state is moved only by interests, nothing else. It may seem like it isn't like that, but it is. No sane ruler would risk the lives of his own men if the city state doesn't gain anything from it.
Every city state has a dark side if I may say so, or did Demacia always treat you with sweet joy?''
"Well of course we act because it might help us directly or eventually." Lux replied. "Doing ANYTHING helps or hinders us in some manner, you can't do something to no effect. So what if we are nice to them so they'll be nice to us? Isn't that half of what friendship is? You act like we do it from some level of malicious greed. That's not how it works. There's a difference!"

Lux half glared at Swain.

"I'm sure that was a shot at my past." She said carefully. "That was all my... parents."She almost spit out the word. "It was not by will of Demacia."

''Friendship? Diplomacy is not based on friendship. Friendship was always used as a propaganda for the masses, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. Do you believe that Noxus and Zaun are best friends? If yes, then it worked. The two states merely have similar interests.
Trust me, your king, as much as he wishes to deny it, does the same.
Tell me, why didn't Demacia help Ionia? The League prevented them? Well, if Demacia was so valorous they would be willing to incite their rage in order to help Ionia, But you didn't help, you just watched for 14 years, and did almost nothing. And you know why?
Because it was not in Demacia's interest to incite the League's rage.
Face the grim reality, Luxanna. Your city state and it's personal goals will always come before other's. It's just how the world works. The sooner you accept it, the better.''
Swain slowly tilts his head at Lux.
''Or would you rather live in denial.''
His eyes turn into the red flaming ones he has in Raven form, yet he remains human.
''Would you rather go around, thinking that you are the only one betrayed by their parents.''
Swain took a step towards Luxanna.
''The only one who cried, helplessly being pulled away as their parents looked to the side, as if the children don't know they exist.''
Swain took another step towards Lux, slowly pushing her towards the wall. The room slowly got engulfed by a dark cloud.
''As if they hate their own child. Not care for it's tears. For it's fears. As if it were just trash to be thrown away.''
When Lux would finally hit the dark wall behind her, Swain would stop walking.
''Is that what you wish, little girl? Ignorance? Is that what Demacia represents? Closed eyes towards the world, only seeing what you want to see? Is this the life you want to live, with eyes half closed, only seeing part of the truth? IS THAT IT?!?!''
In a moments notice the darkness receded, and Swain quickly hovered back to where he was previously standing.
''Then so be it.''

Lux had a death grip on her baton for the duration of Swain's show, ready to blast him into the next light year if he tried anything. But, he didn't. She stared at Swain, breathing hard, clearly having been put into a panic during the event.

"YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S IGNORANT!" Lux suddenly exploded, pointing at Swain accusingly. "YOU'VE BEEN RENDERED IGNORANT BY KNOWLEDGE! You, with all your history, all your philosophy, all that nonsense that the military forced into your bird's skull, all of it has made you lose sight of how people actually work! You think it's ignorant to assume people care about others? You think it's ignorant to believe that nations can be run by people who actually care about stuff beyond their own borders?! You think everyone around you is ignorant of the suffering and pasts of everyone else?! Nothing you spit at me is knowledge, it's cynicism! You've been damaged beyond repair by your own stupid ideals! What, only the strong survive, survival of the fittest, you think that's still how nations are run?! What are you, an animal?! PEOPLE ARE KIND BY NATURE UNTIL THEY'RE WARPED BY STUPID IDEALS! THEY'RE CARING, THEY'RE NURTURING, THEY HAVE EMPATHY, THEY GIVE A BARON ABOUT OTHERS! YOU... YOU... SUCK!"

And she let out a long exhale, followed by heavy breathing.

What the hell is... Oh
Dojel was panting in the doorway
Ehm... Delivery for Swain.
Dojel went to Swain quickly, took a scroll like parchment from his coat, handed it to him, and if Swain wouldn't be quick and take it, he'd just drop it at his feet and leave. As far as Dojel knew, the scroll wasn't actually important.

I hope that with your strong leadership, you can pay attention to every detail that threatens Valoran as a whole.

I have already warned Chairman Magnus of Zaun about the incoming threat and I am about to send letters to the leaders of Ionia and Demacia. Please do reply because the threat that I saw in my time in the Void is beyond anything Valoran can conjure. I am sending the letter to remind you because the results can be horrific if any city state ignores the incoming darkness that many be unleashed form the Shadow Isles and the Void. If the situation turns for the worse, we may need to ally with every city state in Valoran to attempt safety and security.

And she let out a long exhale, followed by heavy breathing.
"Take it from me, dear, people are always the same," a familiar voice laughed. "They all say they care, they all say they're there for you, but where does that get them? What did your loving brother do when you were taken away, hm? How loving is he towards you? Has he ever said he's proud of you, of your accomplishments? Has he shown that there's more to life than serving his country? I think not. In a way, your own sibling is suffering from the same, oh so called 'cynicism', that you accuse our High General of. Do forgive me, Luxanna, but are there poor people in Demacia? Are there homeless? Are there the weak who are trampled? No no, people are not kind by nature. From the very moment they're born, they're violent. Blood is everywhere, violence is the start of birth, and children do not know any better. How many times is it the child that tries to treat others fairly the one who is used and abused, hm? That, dear, is called life. If you do not go with the flow, you will be crushed under the tide. The High General is not a cynic, no no, a good cynic is a dead cynic. High General Swain, if I may say so myself, is a realist, unlike you."

LeBlanc appeared from behind Swain and curtsied towards him, "High General? I do believe you are late for a meeting. Shall I escort Lady Crownguard out?"

((At an earlier time in the same bat cave))

"Mm, go for the assassination one. Who, when, where, how. The details, dear Jericho."

it is with great sorrow that I must inform you that Noxus is currently not willing to go into a military alliance, especially one including Demacia.

We are, however, interested in establishing a trade route between Noxus and Bandle City, which may indirectly serve the purpose you initially contacted me with.

''People may care, but they lie. And those that don't, they are ignored, forgotten, used and misused. Besides, I was referring to states, dear, not people. City state interactions are devoid of emotion. One does not put millions of people at risk just because they believe their ally would help. No, they put millions of lives at risk because they know their ally has to help them. The games city states play with each other are too costly. They can not afford to risk everything into an uncertain factor such as ''We helped them. They are probably going to return the favor''. That, little girl, is the reason you are just a willing slave, not a ruler. Now, would you kindly leave the premises? I have a meeting to attend to.

Lux's eye twitched.

"What, afraid of the answers to all those questions?" She asked LeBlanc, challengingly. "Or do you already know you're wrong, just trying to get a rise out of me?" She shook her head, and looked at Swain. "Very well, enjoy your meeting. I'll go and let my guard down around a half dragon. You go and wonder when your closest ally is going to stab you in the back." She turned and walked away.

"Not if. When."

And then she was gone.

LeBlanc laughed and waved at Lux, "Don't be such a stranger, dear!"

The Deceiver leaned over and muttered to Swain, "Should I see her later, and help cheer her up?"

''Not ''should''. You will go pay her a visit, it's part of the mission. You see, my dear, you will do both of the assignments I asked you about, simultaneously. Your mission, if nothing out of the ordinary happens, should go something like this:

1. Enter Demacia at approximately 15:30 and head towards the Crownguard manor.

2. Once there you will have 30 minutes to chat with Luxana, do wharever you want and cast two spells:
The first spell is a memory spell that will force Luxanna to remember the moment she was taken away from her family. The spell will trigger every time she hears or sees something Demacian. The spell's duration will be 3 weeks, after which she will not need the spell to remember the even every time she sees or hears something Demacian, her mind will start doing the job for us.. Here are the instructions to the spell.''
Swain hands over a piece of paper to Emilia.
''Try to memorize it. I am eager to see how it affects dear Luxanna.
The second spell is one you should be able to cast without any help. All you have to do is move all of her clocks 30 minutes forward and then return them to their rightful place, eventually.

3. At 16:00, the Noxian diplomat, lord Prok Winse ((Anagram for ____ _____)), will arrive at the gate, which means that Luxanna's clocks should show 16:30. At that moment you should ask her which time it is. That way you will have an alibi and your witness will be none other than Luxanna Crownguard. I do am aware that having an alibi might not be as important as I make it out to be, but better safe than sorry.

4. At 16:05-16:10 lord Prok should be making his way into the city, as it would probably take 5-10 minutes to let him through the main gate, because of the papers, authentication and such. During that time you will use your special skills to kill a Demacian guard and take on his form. And don't forget to hide the body.

5. At around 16:10 you will kill lord Prok with your Demacian weapon and run away. Try to loose them somewhere around the city. As soon as you manage to hide from everyone you should be able to transform. Then go grab the dead body and exit Demacia in an unconventional way, as smuggling a dead body through the main gate would be too risky. You should be able to Distort through the wall.

And so, Noxus will be in the position to make almost any demands it wishes from Demacia. Hah, we might even be in the position to issue an ultimatum. Not to mention how this would affect Demacia's image. One small event with many great consequences...

Well, dear Emilia, will you do it?''
