I don't know if this has been suggested already. "Maybe" we should be able to pick our position before we queue.

The idea is you pick queue for SR, then select a position; top, mid, bot, jungle, support. When you enter the champion select, next to your portrait and on the opposite side would be a letter representing your selected position; T M B J S U. U being for undecided.

The reason I say maybe is because I believe there are good arguments for why we shouldn't be able to pick our positions before laning. Perhaps because it would force a meta? The reason I believe this might help is because people tend to QQ at champ select to be what position they want. On top of that, some people would like to specialize into a position so they can learn more about it. Just calling out the position would work but there is always the case where someone picks a champ, then afterwards, you say you want that position. Then an argument about priorities happens resulting in a bad game or a Q-Dodge.

Speaking of Q-Dodging, what about a Q-Dodge button where if 3 people press it, the selection ends with no penalty for anyone. If someone is QQ'ing at champ select, you can tell its not going to be a good game, and if everyone agrees, they really shouldn't be punished.

The meta would be law, basically. The game would go into utter stagnation, and the widespread epidemic of Complacent Gaming Syndrome would be exascerbated beyond all hope of repair.

"I don't know if this has been suggested already."

This is suggested almost every single day. The meta changes throughout the seasons and the developers of the game are trying to make multiple meta's work. Queueing by position would essentially lock in metas and not allow other things to work. Should there be a better queuing system? Yes. But it can't be this.

There should also remain a gamemode similar to what we have now, just in case you don't want to abide to the meta. I don't see the problem with adding a game mode as long as we keep the old one.

this needs to be done. like i was in queue and i hadnt locked in yet. i didnt spam adc or even call it very fast. i did call it but not like "adc adfja;ldskjfasldfihodjfa" this guy takes ashe: locks in. doesnt even DISCUSS with the team. now i changed my position cause i dont argue with things. but even worse there was a katarina and a diana argueing over whos gonna mid. the art of communication and compromise is lost in this game.

im a meta sheep by the way. i believe short of having bad match-ups in all 1-2 lanes you can win any game if you follow the meta - stay positive - do your best.
