LoL is different from DotA. In DotA, champions have specific counters that can be used to rein in overpowered champions. In League, Riot tried to stay away from a champ-counter-champ system, thus making overpowered champs more of an issue.

They did try to stay away from counter champions but because of this it is more important to have synergistic team compositions. This is what I'm complaining that they keep nerfing, not the champions necessarily.

Sadly, the over-eagerness to nerf champions instead of having players figure it out is way too common in LoL. Partly its because the majority of LoL players are immature and unwilling to try different strategies and combinations to combat some of the so called "overpowered" champions.

Take Rengar for instance, his main damage sources are either q or w depending on if he is ap or ad. Players are actually crying because he can potentially two shot an adc. Yeah, the weakest/lowest hp member who should always be in the back or surrounded by his teammates. They (the players) are demanding that they nerf an assassin for doing what he is supposed to do: assassinate key targets in the battlefield. Instead of players placing pink wards around their lanes, having the main tank buy an oracle, sticking together, save some of their cc for when rengar comes out of ult, etc. Players are determined to go the lazy route and instead demand for Riot to nerf any champions that change their own gameplay/strategies.

Sadly, until players themselves growup stop crying out for a nerf the first week of a champion release, LoL will slowly continue to become more of the same old same old.

Just wait until people start figuring out the sick combos you can do with rengar, like rengar with nocturne - then the nerf bat will definitely start swinging =/

Maybe LoL is a Toys-R-Us kid.

Doesn't want to grow up.

hello hazy line!

Its a two sided sword. Essentially while you want to go promote new strategies here is the underlying problem as related to competitive players

A) Competitive players play to win
A1) If A is true then that means these players will choose the best heroes and use the best strategies to ensure their wins
B) Overpowered strategies/heroes have a greater chance of winning due to their OP nature
C) Since Competitive players want to win and use the strategies that will best guarantee them victories they use more frequently overpowered champs and overpowered strategies as they have the best chances of creating that win.
Keep in mind I specifically avoided the word always. This is not always the case that teams are built around only THE best, but the point stands.

And the hazy line. What constitutes OP heroes/strategies versus legitimate balanced characters/strategies? I cant say myself. I think dont Riot wants to ruin any new metas or strategies but they do have to ensure that abusive/OP strategies are balanced out.

This is the two sided sword
Dignitas triple support wasn't OP or impossible to deal with. They just took people by surprise. They weren't even able to win the tournament they unvieled it in. Riot still nerfed it into oblivion immediatly.
