Wasn't he released about a week and a half ago?

Anyways Morello, thank you and the Riot Team for taking a look into Yorick. I hope once you put the next patch buffs through (hopefully this or early next week) that he'll be quite viable and fun to play.

8 days ago as of this writing, with patches typically coming out every 14 days (though 21 day cycles exist in some cases).

We have to wait for patches to make changes unless it's an emergency or really simple to fix, since we don't want to risk instability with a lot of small changes.

Are they LESS viable than Yorick? No, probably not.

Are they still unviable, have been sitting at unviable status for far longer than Yorick has even existed, and will continue to do so for the indefinite future after Yorick gets his emergency treatment buff? Yes, yes, and yes.

Ah, makes sense. Quick-Fix for emergencies similar to his buggy 200 death ultimate and Patches for bigger fixes that need time to be tested and implemented. I'm curious, do you know how much was Yorick tested before he was released to the public?

Not enough, to be honest - this was due to us making some risky changes at the end to really make him have a lot more potential to be fun, but the risk did some damage, and made it so testing was much more difficult than normal. Yorick is a champion that I think suffered from some of our more risky iterations that can sometimes happen at zeroth hour. He's a cooler champion for it, but bugs and balance were a clear cost on this one.
