Also, they store an encrypted version of your password, they're having trouble decrypting it.
There is no reason to ever need to decrypt a password, in fact you don't ever want this to be a possibility. Regardless of the method of encryption it should be as one way as possible.

So while you might be right in that MD5 is outdated, you are dead wrong assuming they should ever have to decrypt it in the first place.

I am posting on a new account because my normal one has the login problem

In addition all of MD5's "weaknesses" provide additional security for the passwords, thats why i use it.

No problems with log-in here.

Well.. forum password not secure would mean = game account not secure = all those investments not secure

I think no one would like to consider that possibility.

I believe we actually do use a type of hash system by the way. I will check with a tech engineer and get back to you. This is what you get when a non-technical person posts, but I just wanted to post that we were experiencing an issue quickly and how people should deal with it.

All passwords are stored with 1-way hashes. Passwords are never decrypted, plaintext, etc

Yeh you're all right about not decrypting passwords, shouldn't say stuff I don't do myself :$

Good to hear the passwords are stored safely and you're working on a fix for the issue
