Does anyone else find it strange for the application to be made for the iPhone, even though the game doesn't run on Mac OS yet?

Epic fail.
Here let me help you with this:

Created in close collaboration with the team at GOA/Orange Labs, this game is completely free, and a great way for players to continue enjoying League of Legends while on the go. In League of Legends: Turret Defense, players strategically select and place upgradeable turrets on the field and defend against waves of minions, dragons and even a couple of the Champions from League of Legends!

Click here or search for League of Legends in the App Store and download the free app today! We hope you guys have fun with this, and be on the lookout for a flash version coming soon.

Note the bolded part. Riot probably just oversaw the production of this app. So the release of this app didn't even involve the people developing any of those features. Also it's an iPhone turret defense game, probably only took a week or two for them to make it.

Sooooooo..... This looks remarkably like Field Runners. Like legitimate clone of GUI here.
