@Riot, its time for the faceless mods to stop.

To be fair though, a lot of the time people get banned their post that was the main offender gets deleted then they pretend like they did nothing.

I'm not saying the mods are always right, but sometimes they just don't leave behind the evidence that makes their actions correct.

OK. If anyone here feels like they were banned in error, I want to encourage you to submit a Player Support ticket. It will be investigated, and if there were errors made, we can unban you. Please include as much initial information as possible to limit the amount of back and forth.

I will say that we do audit the actions taken by our moderators, so unless it was something we missed, it was probably deserved.

Edit: Just so that there's no confusion. This is for anyone who feels they were banned in the forums in error. This does not include game bans.

There's an astounding amount of irony in this thread...

Tamat, would you mind taking a second to comment on Riot banning accounts in-game for forum transgressions? It has apparently started happening, and I and others on the forums would like to know if forum bans in the future can also lead to in-game bans.

Thanks.

Speaking of this, @red, legit question, any idea what happened to me about a week ago?
I got a 3 day instaban and my post deleted in a hentai thread for calling out the OP on page 4 of that same thread. Some mod was obviously in the thread, and letting the OP get away with his ****.
I'm not complaining for getting banned (too much?) since I called him out for being a pedophile which I guess was inappropriate(?) but accurate, and the mod opted to ban me instead of the OP and his thread
Was that one of the mods that went "ham" or is there some dirty **** going on in the background?

Even if the ban was 2 years ago?

This can happen on occasion. For instance, if you post multiple threads with links to porn, viruses, or keyloggers they will forward that **** to me. When they do, I work with our Player Support team to determine whether or not we should be penalizing you in-game as well. If it's severe enough, we lay down the banhammer hard.

We're currently drafting new rules that make clear the things you can do in the forums to lose your in-game account. You can expect to see those soon.

Also I think it's annoying how inconsistent bans are. My main account got permabanned on the first offense, and I still don't even know what I did. I've seen people only get temp banned for porn, or telling people to go do terrible things to themselves.

Good to know, thank you. The previous expectation was that the forums and game were separate, but apparently this has changed. From my experience, may I assume that you're employing IP bans for this?

I don't know why people are surprised at this. It's happened before, also in-game bans used to have forum bans attached. It's nothing new yet people are all shocked.

You don't want to get banned? Stop being a **** and ruining it for everyone else.
