Excellent post, I agree completely.

As for that post by Statikk...um, what? They know they "significantly reduced her power level" and that she's going to be hurt more than most by the new potion limit...and they don't plan to buff her power back a little? Picking Akali is only going to hurt your team if she doesn't have the damage to do her job. How does tweaking Twilight Shroud help her do enough damage to get a kill (instead of getting killed) when she goes all in? It's not like people pick her for her CC. Any reduction in her damage is a direct reduction in viability, just like Katarina and the other six or so champs with either no CC or no real reliable one.

I seriously question Riot's judgment more and more these days.

Yeah, Statikk's post makes absolutely no sense considering the ROFLWTFBBQ burst power of Fizz while having the safety of his E and passive, and Fizz also happens to be balanced.

I don't think Statikk plays Akali. :3

There's a reason why Akali was your only champion to Diamond. I have a very similar experience with getting my friend Ashley to play league. She only played Lux for six months straight at the start, and she fed horribly. We never had the heart to tell her how much she sucked, but luckily she decided to pick up Akali on a whim one day. Guess which champ she manages to consistently own with with no other experience aside from six months of god awful Lux-ing. Dead serious. The only other game this girl plays is Tetris online.

The guy who only plays Akali to Diamond is not the guy you listen to when debating the champ's balance. You listen to the guy who not only plays Akali for a hundred games, but every champ in ranked for 100 games.
So your friend got to diamond as well? I won't deny that playing Akali at Bronze to Gold is easy. But when the average amount of deaths is 10 and you are facing a full Diamond team, things change. Vision wards, ADC positioning, etc.
The level of play is completely different.

In essence, the first point you are making is that I am unable to play any other champion at diamond level. Do you know BoxBox (Streamer / NA)? He only plays Riven. His Riven plays are insane. Then you look at his other champions and you quickly notice: The rest of them is abysimal compared to that. Why is that? His skill level with these champions is lower. Maybe he is Platinum on ADC, who knows. Anyways, guess what? A plat gets destroyed when facing a proper Diamond. Does that mean he sucks? No, a plat still plays better than 96% of the whole ranked population. His stats still will be 1-10-x.

Change the champion and the same goes for myself. I'm certainly unable to play any other champion at my current ranked level. I am rank 2874 (0.32%) on EUW. I am better at playing Akali than 99% of the European playerbase. So I do believe my view has meaning. Especially since I'm not really making a point regarding her power level. Rest assured, I can deal with that. What bothers me is the direction they are taking the champion.

Of course, your 100 games per champion guy (I expect him to be Diamond, right?) will have a better view on the champion's balance state. Underpowered, balanced, overpowered. He will be able to put the champions into the categories. That's the champion live balance team right there. It consists mainly of Diamond game designers.

And also if Akali were such an easy, faceroll champion at Diamond and above, why do I see her hardly being played even before the nerf? I'm seeing a lot of Kha'Zix / Zed instead. What does that tell us I wonder? That winning with these champions at diamond might be easier? Just a thought.

Again at me debating balance:
The job of live design is to set the correct power level. The point I am making is different. I don't care about power level (within reason). I care about power distribution. I want a high risk / high reward champion. Live balance currently thinks mild risk / mild reward is the better approach. I disagree.

Also: My perspective is unique. The guy who played every champion for 100 games is already on the live balance team. They don't need that insight. They need specialist knowledge. That is what Riot lacks and I can provide.

I'm also at Diamond (NA) and I have played a lot of Akali games. I agree with everything you have said.
So it's not like you are a lunatic that is crying "buff Akali".
Most players now consider Akali very weak. Diamond players have always considered Akali weak (even pre-nerf) since she is so easy to shut down (even when fed).

Players like scarra and Voyboy (Challenger-level and professional players) say that the Akali nerfs were overboard. And scarra doesn't even play Akali: http://www.team-dignitas.org/article...alance-Update/

This is one of the few threads on the LoL forums that is very well-thought out and deserves a Rioter's reply.

I can be very persistent. It is not the first time I summon Rioters. If I have to get 2000 upvotes, I can sustain that. I did it once, I do believe I can do it again if necessary.

[Or I annoy certain other rioters until statikk's email address is revealed... ]

[Or might just write an email. We will see.]
If you know how to contact one of the Rioters, go for it :3.

Forever banned in bronze. :[[[[

But I agree, she seems to have become pretty weak lately
