Can we make another Champion like Ryze that scales with mana?

We have a heap that have abilities scaling with max HP, some that scale with armour and magic resist, Hecarim scales with movement speed and the usual scaling of AD and AP.

Are there any plans for a Champion like Ryze?

No current plans, though it's not something we're opposed to, providing it's offering a different experience/niche to the one Ryze occupies (so probably not a mage with a similar playstyle at the very least) and doesn't result in any significant unhealthy gameplay.

We did toss around some ideas for a support with some mana scaling about a year ago, couldn't get the gameplay, theme and visuals on that champion to mesh however so we never even got to the prototyping phase.

I still think some kind of ratios leading to other indirect scaling is a huge area of design space Riot will explore some day.

Like a champion's crit % increasing an ability's range.

Or attack speed increasing auto-attack range.

These are pretty out-there ideas, but with the right champions, kits, concept work, they're all *potentially* cool ideas. Just tossing that out there

What about a support/hybrid mage scaling with AP for damage and utility (cc length, range, aura radius, etc.) scaling with mana?

I'd love a new champion like udyr with stances... that involved leg usage instead - considering Udyr just does all jabs and strikes..

Have you considered a champion with an ability (likely ultimate) that allows for the champion to dump mana very rapidly to create an all in scenario? Most champions fail their all ins when they run out of health or cooldowns, but what if mana was the real limiter for a champion?

I was thinking something similar to the old Karma and Nami where each ability can either be cast on ally or enemy, giving different stats.

Like for example, if the Q was a movement speed buff for allies and slow for enemies (kinda like Zilean's E) it would scale so that the buff % is increased per X amount of mana.

Similarly with a heal/damage ability and even possibly a reveal/invisibility ability. Someone that could main as a support/mid, with the scaling not so impossibly high that you need to build a fully stacked Tear, RoA, Frozen Heart, etc to be useful.
