It seems to be getting worse and worse... last night when I played my bot game, it started flashing black while I was killing the ennemy's red lizard so I waited for it to stop while autoattacking the lizard. After 7-8 secs it was still flashing... I had to alt tab to get rid of it. It definately looks like video memory corruption. Like the memory address passed to display an image doesn't point to the right spot OR the image loaded in video memory was corrupted to begin with.

Oh well... shameless bump!

I've been experiencing the same issues with the same video cards, finally I have an answer to why. I just hope they fix this soon, and not overlook us, because I'm sure they're tons of others that are having the same problem, but just aren't on the forums.

Well, let's try and keep this bumped. Hoping for a fix soon... because, man, I was about to admit defeat when last match it just kept flickering during any kind of skirmish/team fight for about the midgame period in PvP. Thankfully I fed my teammate more before that started up.

Hey guys,

I'll try to see if I can get someone to comment on this, but I do believe someone in QA is addressing the issue.

In the meantime, for the ATI 7 series version of this issue, players were able to resolve the problem by using Radeon beta drivers.

Given the age of the 8800 series, I'm not sure if this is an option, but it may be worth taking a look if this is available, or if it's possible to roll back to previous working drivers for a temporary fix.

I already contacted Dannamoth in QA (if you look back a few pages); the drivers have done nothing for the issue (I went to the beta drivers). I appreciate the added voice though! We just wanted to keep the thread active. I don't know if any added data "now" would help diagnose and fix the issue; I was continuing on in this vein as well as a simple frustration release.

I had the previous drivers before the February 1st patch, so I don't think rolling back would do anything. As many players that had this problem did upgrade from old drivers to the current ones and some went ahead to test the beta drivers like myself.

I tried reaching out to Dannamoth to find out what the exact problem is besides what has been stated here, so I'm not certain if it's been pinpointed or not exactly yet. It was just supposed to be looked into after a Radeon fix with the next patch.

You can see the conversation here: https://twitter.com/Muranodo/status/300081036434477056

The waiting, well, is just very long and frustrating; I know I've lost out on a lot of in-game gains because of the issue.

kanevivi- there are other topics about pure black screens. May want to see if the other ones in this area are more akin to yours :x

There is beta drivers for 8800 series, but it doesn't fix the issue (beta driver 313.96).

Getting the same problem on my 8800 GTX. Seems to be driver-independent. I'm posting to keep this thread bumped. Riot plz!

I sense that I was summoned!

Earlier this morning, I had a meeting with a team here at Riot called Live QA. They focus on all emerging and current bugs/issues in our client or the game itself, and I specifically talked to them about this particular issue.

From this conversation, I have learned that we are aware of this emerging issue, and we would like to move forward with resolving it quickly. Additionally, as of this moment, we are also working on finalizing a fix for Radeon HD 7 Series Graphics Card. To that end, we will be working on resolving both of these issues as quickly and efficiently as we can.

Due to this, I cannot provide any further or exact information as of this time other than the fact that we know about it, and are going to be working on it. I am sincerely sorry for any issues this is causing. Hang tight guys, were get it resolved!
