You will probably want it to sound like an actual last name.

Again back to the whole employer thing.

Also, just because of the personal implications it carries, I would not date a chick who changed her last name to Dark or Shadows.

Though I have considered changing my name just because of how hard it is to pronounce. The other day I had to say it like six times before someone got it.

I'd do it if I ever got married. Not that much of a difference..

I have no interest in Japan.
Also I just wouldn't tell them I had one.

Okay Fuji I think we've established I'm not your type of girl and vice versa. You judge people on trivial things.

Also PhD... last name irrelevant.
Also if it sounds celebrity worthy, better for when I'm published.

So yah know, a lot of men don't like tattoos for some reason, if your dead set on one, get a tiny tiny -classy- hideable one.
I'm not deadset I'm currently indifferent....

I do have a dream for a very large one in my hand and up my arm.
But I'll wait till I'm successful before getting that.

Someone changing their last name to "dark" is not trivial, yo.

You'd probably alienate yourself from 70% of the male population with that move.

The decisions that people make are not trivial at all. If you change your name, your choice says a lot about who you are.

How little you know.

#1: You're a female in a profession that is 95% male. you won't be taken seriously because you are a woman
#2: Every weird thing about you -- having a weird last name that you chose yourself -- to having visible tattoos -- to having no family -- to your weird sociopathic obsession with knives -- is another strike against you.

name i say got for it. not a fan of big tattoos or commonly visible tattoos. reasonable ones i can deal with, but they're usually still a negative tally.
