I had a few friends over the other weekend who wanted to try this game, and it took a long frustrating time to get the game patched up to date. I was wondering if there is anything that can be, or has been done, to streamline the patches. Maybe just one big patch, so we know we have to wait an hour and can go upstairs to watch The Office, rather than a lot of smaller "Dashing-our-hopes" patches where we think we're finally ready... but nope another patch.
That being said once we started playing it was worth the wait, but until then all four of them were complaining about "How long is this stupid game going to take", and convincing them to stay and wait it out rather than leave and never try playing. The game experience is wonderful, but the waiting is agonizingly painful.

If you are all downloading separately it may be better to download it once and then copy it to everyones machines (and install adobe air). It could also be put on a USB drive prior to visiting your "friends".

Also turning P2P can help (or hinder) the speed.

Working on the actual size is something we have plans for in the future.

(Note: Put friends in quotes, because anyone who does not play LOL is not a true friend right?)

Slight aside: What about making the patcher actually clean up after itself? It leaves the old patches in place, wasting a TON of space over time.
