Lord, those are only viable if you have 2 philospher stones to save for them.

A malady should never be used on any champion unless someone on your team has starks. Even then you should use a BT instead.

Malphite's changes were very close to being enough.

He is quite useful now. He just isn't a tank in the Shen or Rammus sense of things. He's a tank in an offensive sense, in that he forces people to focus him by doing a lot of burst damage to 1 or 2 squishies. You can't stop him from getting to your back line. It doesn't work. As long as he gets his burst out before he dies, Malphite has done his job. The only problem is that there is little to no room for error when Malphite goes in.

He gives you all the time you need to kill a lot of people if you are working together. If your team doesn't fall on their team like an avalanche though, you won't survive the focus fire for long. He is much less forgiving of mistakes than Shen or Nasus or Rammus because he is completely All or Nothing and has no survivability steroid.

I think he needs to be further evaluated. The changes made were inadequate. He's still lackluster aside from his ult. He ults in he dies. That's not serving a purpose. You're not killing anyone, you're not stopping a carry from killing your carry. Everything he can do someone can do better it makes no sense to even have the champion in the game.
