Let me guess, the NA team has to pony up the cash to actually go there for this one too?

Pretty sure whatever American team wins won't be able to afford to go anyways.

Hey guys,

The reason that there is only one North American slot is that the IntelEM administrative staff felt that there would be a great likelihood that two European teams would have the financial support to attend an event in China rather than two America teams.

This is based on their prior experience with North American Counter-strike teams and the costs of travel from North America to China compared to Europe to China. In short, it's a matter of economics rather than a matter of skill.

Keep in perspective that there will be an North American IEM stop (soon to be announced) that will feature a majority of American slots and small set of European and Asian slots.
