My parents don't let me play games

Video games are nothing but recreation for 99% of people.

It's a tough situation because although video games can have positive benefits, your mother has been exposed first hand to one of the biggest downsides, which is video games having a severe negative impact on real life.

It wouldn't hurt to try and sit down with your mom and talk to her about how you won't let the same thing happen to you, you play in moderation, it relieves stress, etc.

My brother looked very promising but now hes completely deadbeat with no job and the college calling him asking for money he owes.

I see telling a convincing story that doesn't stink of bullshit is not among the skills you have

Full scholarship is sometimes just tuition

If a scholarship is just for tuition, it's not a full scholarship.

Actually it is. However, since any payments he would have to make for room and board are easily covered by federal loans, the story is full of bs

Depends on the school bro

Dobagoh 11-17-2012 05:03 PM

Anything a school gives you that is beyond tuition is taxable income and gets reported to the IRS.

I guarantee you few schools want to force their students to deal with that hassle, much less go through the paperwork themselves.
