olaf and darius

Ok why does everyone ***** at darius true damage

but no one even remotely points out that olaf does 340 on a joke of a cooldown and no mana cost ?

to do any real damage darius has to spend insane amounts of mana, olaf dosent

CerealBoxOfDoom 11-14-2012 05:49 AM

because darius fights you, tanks some damage, pulls you back as you try to escape, and does all that true damage at once then does it to a friend. Seeing him leap into the air and split you scars people for life lol

Olaf just beats you up and keeps it moving

if darius pulls you back to keep you from escaping and not to egage you did something wrong already

if he still has enough mana to fight someone else after unloading his full combo on you, you did something wrong already

Olaf does the same amount of true damge darius does in the 5 second period , in addion to that he does even more physical damage, he has sustain, and oh yea you can not cc him.

Because early game, the health cost it takes to spam his E is rather significant even when opening Q>W>E. His sustain is decent but it's not the greatest, so good sustainers like Cho and Yorick give him a really tough time. Not to mention aside from undertow, he has no form of CC and without a mallet or constantly catching you with Axes, he has no way of sticking to you. He's an awesome duelist but if he's not hitting axes, he's not getting on top of you unless he wants to take tons of minion aggro due to him being 100% melee aside from his Q.

Play someone with a strong dis-engage or nice sustain and you'll find he's not that bad.

problem is his E is mor then easily covered by health regen

his mana regen makes Q spam infinite

and oh yea his E does not triger minion aggro

If he gets a philo stone, sure. It's not an uncommon item on Olaf. The thing is, this is why you play someone like Cho'gath or Yorick. By the time his spells are off cooldown, Cho and yorick will have healed up through all of his harass. Eventually, they will just out-sustain him in lane.

His Q does. So the only way he's not triggering aggression is if he's casually walking up to you and slapping you with his E, which would be your fault.

Here's the thing, it's a tough lane no matter who you play. Good Olaf players are scary but the trick is to not feed him or go all in on him. As I said, he's one of the best duelists due to his abilities and his passive. But even then if you play the sustain game, it's honestly not that bad. Building a little health (an early doran's sheild actually goes a LONG way) and resistances help.

One last thing I wanted to add: I said it earlier but I guess I'll emphasize this again. His trade-off for having these great abilities is having no form of hard CC or a gap closer. He's easily kitable unless he uses ghost/ragnarok but even then, he still needs to land Q's to stay on top of you. Don't be a statue. He will punish you if you stand still and make yourself an easy target for undertow.

Actually, his Q does not trigger minion aggro. Only abilities that proc on-hit effects trigger minion aggro, and Undertow does not proc on-hit effects.

Because Olaf is somewhat less killsteal-happy I guess.

Peligrad 11-14-2012 07:45 AM

Olaf also doesn't have the tendency to full to nothing people like Darius does...

And Olaf's ulti doesn't legitimately do 45% of someone's life total in one hit either...

Kevin 11-14-2012 07:51 AM

ignore these low elo scrubs who posted before me.

Olaf is 10x more brutal than Darius
and should be nerfed before Darius is even thought of being nerfed
