Bringing back the old TT is a bad idea, here's why.

I know many of you already understand (even if you don't agree with) why the old TT is not being brought back yet. This is for anyone who has not read Riot's response or does not understand why we should not have both maps.

Lets jump right into the nitty gritty question that many people are asking: Why not offer both the new and old Twisted Treeline? I know that many people are pining for the old map and I certainly understand their position; between alters, speed buff, a super powerful boss, and items that perpetuate the AD bruiser meta, the new map can feel like too much was changed and maybe it went in the wrong direction. So why can't we have the best of both worlds and offer both maps?
The easiest answer is that it would split the player base at a time when we really cannot afford to cut our numbers. For quite a while we have been lacking Riot intervention on key issues, the tournament scene and ergo the rest of the world have completely ignored us, and we still do not have ranked solo que. These issues are directly because our group is so niche, we simply have not justified greater priority.
But things have changed. Riot has not only fixed key issues but is also doing their best at pushing us into the spotlight. Yesterday Sam was featured on the main page and garnered over 9000 viewers! I cannot stress enough how amazing this is, not two weeks ago he struggled to pull a few hundred. This influx of publicity and interest directly benefits everyone who is a fan of 3v3s, regardless of map preference.

If our numbers continue to grow, if interest rises and we are deemed credible for a tournament, then the end result is inevitable: updates will come more frequently, things will be balanced more often, and there will be more tournament and sponsor money.

I know that many people are upset with the decision that Riot has made, but please, lend your support. We only get one chance at this, let's make it worthwhile.

how to make 3s Popular

make a 3v3 tournament and the top 8 teams get 10k salaray a year (yes this is allot less then the 25k but a whole load of people will actually play it, and over the years it will grow bigger and bigger)

People aren't focusing in 3v3 because there are literally 0 lan tourneys for 3v3 and just some online tourneys that aren't even hosted by riot.

Your wrong about splitting the player base between two maps. Riot knows that if they bring back the old TT the new one will get no play at all.. maybe if they are lucky it will be split 80/20. 80% being the old TT and 20% obviously being the new TT. and riot doesnt want all that effort that was used in a new and unwanted map to go to waste, so they force us to convert to a new TT which most of us refuse to play, be it either going to 5's or stop playing over all. the new TT is just bad. there is no point in playing half the characters cause bruisers steam roll them right off the bat. and lets face it, the other bs reason they didnt want to bring it back was cause they didnt want to have 2 maps to maintain and update, but i mean seriously, when was the old TT ever updated or maintained? its been untouched till now and we liked it. now there really isnt a reason to play LoL anymore, 3's is dead, 5's are full of babies, and Dominion is a joke. 3's was the home for a lot of LoL player's and it was nearly perfect till now. And even though their player base is asking for the old map back that we loved, they refuse cause they dont want to be butt hurt by the fact we prefer the old map to the new one.

you and all the other old TT niche players are stuck in this false world where everyone loved playing TT and it was a great map blah blah blah.

that map is totally BOGUS. most people never play more than a couple games on it and go back to 5's. the MAJORITY of people playing league of legends like the NEW map way more and will play it way more than the old map.

WOW, not true, maybe you havent seen it, but there is this forum called TWISTED TREELINE, and theres tier lists and teams and lots of intereseting things there, it was a like a small 5v5, now we have this horriblemap with new items, now wards, shallow jungle, speed boost???, and laggy design

Where the hell are you getting that 80% of the fanbase hates the new TT? The new TT has BROUGHT people to the TT, and players of the old have also taken a liking to the new one.

I'd say it'd be more 60 New TT and 40 Old TT. The New one has brought in a bunch of fresh fans, something the old one could never really do as it was wrote off as the forgotten, unbalanced map. And really the TT fanbase will always be a lot smaller than SR and maybe even CS, and the idea of having two maps will just slice up both map's player base to an even smaller number.

The new map plays and feels smoother. Pretty much everything has been improved, but just like TF's visual update... people hate change no matter how big the triangle feet were! As for the bruiser meta on the New TT map, it existed just as bad on theo ld one. Must pick Darius/Lee/Jax/Singed types existed back then as well.

It's a reciprocal problem, sponsors are not putting on 3v3 tournaments because the fan base has not been large enough to justify the cost; not enough people would see their product.
In turn, people have not been drawn to the map, because all the hype and money has traditionally been in 5s.
I sense a change in the winds.
