Morgana Always Banned, No One Plays Lux?

Honest question here, how come no one plays Lux in highest level of play?

Her wave clearing not good enough? She has similar initiate to Morgana, a similar Shield, and an ult that is a very strong poke on a short CD.

I guess its that aoe stun on the Morg ult is just too good.

She is extremely weak. Q and E are longer CD than Morgs. Morganas shield is OP as balls > Lux. She can used for certain team comps, but there are just better picks out there other than lux.

Morgana's spellshield is VASTLY greater than morgana's.
Lux also doesn't have that spellvamp passive.

Lux has two skillshots.

IKR, Its like how Lux's shield is crappier than Lux's shield

Idk what these ppl are talking about. Lux is awesome, if you play her right. Lux has to have enough tankiness surrounding her b/c if you build her as a glass cannon, you will absolutely destroy teams. They will literally have to build so much MR that your adc will dominate. If that happens, Lux has so much utility that she can then become assist god. With that being said, I don't think there is a better ult at securing kills. Ppl don't play her because they don't know how. Other mids can go past the river, get ganked and make it out. You have to become a master at freezing the minion wave. Also, you have to master skill shots, which just takes practice. HOWEVER, just like every other champ in the game she can be countered. Lux's best friend is distance so champs with gap closers counter her. Also with her build, you have to find the right balance between straight AP damage output and utility i.e. CC items and CDR. A good Lux controls the terms on which you trade damage with your enemies. Remember she is technically a support so if your team is garbage, she can only do so much. Just remember no matter what they change the names of her skills to, she got the FUNK. Its a mighty weapon which can destroy entire planets, just watch starwars and you can see her in the deathstar.

The Good Doctor.

Lux isn't really a weak champion. Her damage can be incredible with both Q/E. You can have each hitting for over 600. Her R can obtain extremely small CD (Ive gotten it to 30 seconds) with very high range and damage.

There's nothing inherently wrong with Lux's damage, but her cooldowns are pretty crippling.

It prevents her from doing much more in a teamfight than cracking off one round of spells and calling it a day. And unlike Morgana, none of her spells can single handedly win a teamfight - both Morg's spell shield and ultimate can do this.

The two champions don't really have anything in common, despite having dark/light bindings - since even those spells work completely differently from one another.

Also, Lux's early game is quite weak. Her harrass is okay, but a bit mana intensive to keep the pressure applied. Her wave clearing strength is weak, and the cooldown of her ult is fairly long until she gets it to max rank and applies some CDR. Actually setting up a kill is awkward by yourself since she's purely skillshot based and opponents can avoid some or all of your intended combo.

She's not useless. A lot of people think she's a garbage champion. Later on she's fine as a long ranged poke specialist and her shield is better than people think if you can aim it correctly. But her weaknesses are pretty easy to exploit, and that more than anything is stopping her from being a strong pick.

My problem with Lux is she is hard to carry as. If your ult isn't up you just have your Q and E which even when fed will do 50% of the mid/ADCs health so then you just sit there waiting for your CDs. You really need a lot of AP and max CD reduction for her to be really powerful which takes a while to get. Plus if you are spamming her E to farm you better have blue buff because Rod of Ages and Tear isn't viable on lux. Grail is an option but I don't see that built often.

Weak as in you can blow her up fast, not damage wise because she does stupid damage

Lux's biggest problem is her cooldowns, 100% for sure. The big issue is that she can do one big, epic burst and then she needs to avoid dying for a while. She can throw her shield around to help people, I guess, but that won't matter if you can't kill anything in a teamfight.
