Why Dominion will never be a competitive game

Name one game in the Olympics, name one game in WCG or anywhere that punishes a team for doing well.

This rubber band mechanic will delegate this game to a fun little mini-game instead of a real tournament worthy event. If you're winning 21-3 in football they don't take two people off of your team in order to try to artificially make it exciting.

Fix it, get rid of rubber-banding nonsense and you have a real game.

Pretty sure Street Fighter 4 gives your opponent bonus offensive potential if he's losing.

It's not a WCG game, but EVO and Tougeki are still very real pro competitions.

Either way, the rubberbanding was nerfed quite a bit. It's better than having a game be decided ten minutes before it ends, imo -- which is the case in Classic.

I think dominion is more snowballing than many people think. Current rubberband mechanics are maybe bad, but not a big deal, the window timer is stupid and I agree but it's a different matter.

Also modern fighting games have rubberbanding. I'm told nascar does it too. Overall im not against removing it, but right now it's not a big deal.

What a laughably bad analogy. Tell me one competitive sport that gives the team that's winning superior gear than the other team has.

OP needs to pull his head out of what ever orifice it is normally found in and look at this link.

Marathons, all motor racing and cycling use this principle to give an advantage to the trailing competitor.

Also on a more macro scale almost all football leagues reward the lowest ranked teams at the end of each season with first draft picks to boost their long term performance.

Seriously OP...I don't think you thought this one through.

gnmish ends the thread. Aerodynamics wins the day, again!

They are more likely to win because they are up on points. IE if your up 30 points in football you're really likely to win. If your up by a 100 points in Dominion... game still up in the air.

I love how every day someone feels the compulsion to wander into the dominion forums and cry that it's not their type of thing. Seriously, is this what you people get off to?

I like the SR fan bois who make conspiracy theories as to why Dominion is above classic.

Chances are this was posted in GD, and a dumb mod moved it to dominion.

Happens a lot, the mods for Riot are idiots
