Valve Deleted the Dota 2 Lolking - 'Dotabuff'

Who would be for or against Riot deleting Lolking?

Edit- Obviously you can't 'delete' a third party site. Valve didnt do that either, they just withheld all the data needed to run the site. RIot can do the same thing, basically destroying LolKing.

idc for it, maybe just make it so people can opt out of it and BAM problem solved >_>

both sides win

chaser676 01-28-2013 09:51 AM

Riot can definitely delete a third party site. Right.

BarFerTheGreat 01-28-2013 09:51 AM

Lolking is a desperate site and is out of reach from riot. They can't simply revive it Lol it's not their website :P

netkitten 01-28-2013 09:52 AM

riot already closed some statistics which lolking used, you cannot check normal winrates anymore

> is out of reach from riot.

not true, riot could cut them most of their statistics if it really wanted it

Capala 01-28-2013 09:53 AM

I dunno, I like their model viewer.

Make names invisible in champ select (solo queue only). Bam.

Valve didn't delete anything, they merely added an option to disable 3rd party sites being able to collect players statistics.

they can deny them the data thus terminating the site
