[FIX] Disconnecting from PVP.NET and Adobe AIR issues

After 3 weeks of working with a Support Specialist and almost 3 months of enduring this problem, we've found a solution.

--Note: The actual game is unaffected. This wont help for any problems once you start loading until you click Victory/Defeat. I've got windows 7.

What happens:
  • - Client crash anywhere from Login Screen, to Store, to Champion Select
  • - Unexpected, apparantly random crashes
  • - RED BAR flashing, preventing queues from continuing, premade queues starting without you
  • - Red Bar stating: You have been disconnected from PVP.Net. This may be a problem with our service
  • - Crashing gives you no choice but to close the program, resulting in 30 minute waits if it occurs in Ranked
  • - Once game finishes, you have to log in again because the client crashed while you were in game
  • - Repairing and Reinstalling League of Legends wont work
  • - Occurs when LoLRecorder is both a program running in the background, or if it's closed/disabled
  • - Unstable connection even if your Skype call or your internet browsers aren't lagging

If you're experiencing this issue, I've got a few things that may help you.
(#1 is a common fix, #8 worked for me)

1) Disable IP Helper

- Press the keys "Windows" and "R" simultaneously. (Windows normally between Left Alt and Left Ctrl)
- Type "services.msc" in the field and hit enter.
- Scroll down and find "IP Helper" in the list.
- Right-Click on "IP Helper" and select "Properties."
- Change "Startup type" to "Disabled."
- Stop the service
- Click "Ok."
- Reboot your machine.

2) Disable Windows Firewall and Windows Defender

- Press the keys "Windows" and "R" simultaneously. (Windows normally between Left Alt and Left Ctrl)
- Type "services.msc" in the field and hit enter.
- Scroll down and find "Windows Firewall" in the list.
- Right-Click on "Windows Firewall" and select "Properties."
- Change "Startup type" to "Disabled."
- Click "Ok."
- Follow these same steps for the "Windows Defender" Service.
- Reboot your machine.

3) Configure your firewall(s) and Anti-Virus(es)

Riot has a detailed guide to configuring your Firewalls to work properly with League of Legends:

- http://support.leagueoflegends.com/e...gue-of-legends

However, even when properly configured, the disabled modes or exceptions lists often do not function properly for 3rd party firewalls. It would be much quicker to temporarily uninstall your firewalls from your computer. This would allow me to quickly rule them out as a potential cause of the problem so I can get you back into the game faster.

If you're uncomfortable uninstalling your anti-virus and firewalls, I recommend replacing your current software with Avast, which is free for home use. It even has a disabled/gaming mode for getting the most out of your system while playing League of Legends.

4) Disable your IPv6:

- Windows 7: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929852
- Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2478747

5) Syncing your windows Clock

6)Uninstall Adobe Air

a) Uninstalling Adobe Air:

- http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/troubl...ve_air_runtime

b) Downloading the latest version of Adobe Air:

- http://get.adobe.com/air/

7) Port Forward and Configure your router

Your router may be incorrectly filtering League of Legends traffic. Some routers will automatically filter traffic that comes in through unknown ports. In order to prevent this from happening and allow League of Legends to properly communicate with your system, you must manually set your router to allow this traffic.

Please follow this guide to assist you with configuring your router:

Firebind.com has graciously created a script for League of Legends players to test their ports for the game with one simple click.

8) Change your DNS

~~~~ THIS IS THE ONE THAT WORKED FOR ME
Riot has a guide for changing your DNS to a public one.
- http://support.leagueoflegends.com/e...ic-dns-servers
* Changing my DNS to the public one did not fix my problem however. I changed it to one reccommended by my Technician friend.
- http://www.opendns.com
Changing your DNS to openDNS solved my problem. They have a walkthrough on their site on how to procceed.
Hope this helped!
