[Suggestion]Bonetooth Necklace
 
As of where it stands, it's not worth getting, because as an 800 gold 1 slot item that doesn't give much damage, and is based on kills is unreliable. Especially where Rengar stands currently.

Current Stats:

Reasoning:

Rengar is supposed to be a jungler, but as it stands, Bonetooth Necklace doesn't aid with his jungling at all. Having it build out of Hunter's machete, not only makes it a desired item to buy, but also increases the Jungle Utility whilst staying as a balanced item when facing other champions.

Having this there too seems fitting as it would increase Rengar's damage subtly based on skill or teamwork without making him overpowered.

Riot is planning to let Viktor have a Tier 3 of his personal item. It would be good if the Bonetooth Necklace kept pace.
Options :
1) They could make it "vanish" like the Elesia's Miracle. The stacks would continue going up and down.
2) They could give it a second tier. Pay 2000 gold, get a late game item. (They are doing this for Viktor's Hex Core, eventually)
3) They could make it build out of a Machete. Let it replace the functions of a Spirit Stone or Madred's Razors.
4) They could make Razors or Stone combine with a the Bonetooth Necklace to make a Tier 3 similar to Wriggles or Lizard Spirit.
5) They could just buff it.

Hrm... the Hex Core is a static item, however. Bonetooth Necklace is a stacking item which is already designed to be an endgame item, and its effects are far too powerful to have it vanish like Eleisa's Miracle.

Having it combine with Madred's is an interesting option - but it would probably need to change its damage/level to something else in order to preserve it as a top lane item. If you just made it a component of a Rengar-only jungle item, it could very well create a perception that Rengar is "supposed" to jungle, and make unneeded trouble in public games.

The thing is Rengar already from the beginning has had a darius or irelia level of top lane dominance, that's why they nerfed him so hard. But now his jungle is horrendus, the only way to do it without being useless is going for that early health and running as a Off-Tank/ Tank Bruiser/Super tank.
Going straight offence like you used to be able to, just makes you teemo levels of squishy, while going super tank makes you unkillable, but at a tradeoff of no real damage.

solution

make 2 versions of the item

1st version is savage bonetooth necklass, this would be the jungler version
-upgrades from hunters machety +500g

2nd version would be brutal bonetooth necklass
-upgrades from the 400g sword +400g

savage bonetooth would have the passive for the mechety while brutal would have the +1 damage per trophy and that would be the differance

the only difference is their starting item cost (final cost is the same) and 1 passive effect which woudl be a good damge boost vs jungle or +14 damage for laning at max trophies
