Kayle, the Judicator

Hope you'll like that, it's mostly for newbies, since I'm definitely no pro myself.
Kayle is a champion that I don't see many people pick, and I would venture as to say that this is because... she hardly pwns, pvp-wise. I have a strategy with her that is by no means great, but that has worked in many games, so I thought I'd give it a go.
DEFENSE. Focus first on blocking magical and physical damages, then get everything you can in there.
Rally (or Heal, depending on preference)
- Meki Pendant into Philosopher Stone
- Boots of Berserker
- If opposing team is mostly AP based (which is likely) - go Spirit visage
- If not (it sometimes happens) - Step by Warden's Mail, then go to Spirit Visage
- And then Force of Nature
- Banshees Veil
- Anything more is welcome but unlikely.
First 6 levels:
Intervention - Reckoning - Intervention - Reckoning - Bubble - Ulti.
After that, priority goes, in order of importance:
1 Righteous Fury - the ulti. So important for the strategy.
2 Intervention - gives lane survivability and is a great buff if you have a lane mate.
3 Reckoning to harrass. You've got mana regen, so use it!
You've got mana (use it, go Reckoning!) and life regen (intervention) so stay in the lane. You move slightly faster, so you should harass the other team, defend near towers, get xp and kills.
Alternate lane with jungle when possible, and don't be afraid to punish a low life laner with a combo Reckoning + Ult + bubble under your tower
Depending on how your team is doing, you're going to want to destroy every neutral on the map to make gold. Just travel, be an explorer, tour the world, get an occasional kill, and keep on farming.
Level 6: People start fighting to kill each other. And that is where everything differs. Play really cautiously and DEFEND you lane. You should be able to hold two guys, almost regardless of what champ they play. Use your Rally spell. Make sure you stay alive and ok in life. Then one of three things will happen:
A - You're one v one: great. No one is passing through you.
B - You're one v two: tough. Tell your mates to push 2v1 on a lane too so they scare them off.
C- You're one v none because the big boys are fighting each other.
If A or C happen... Soon, the opposing dude will be back to base. Drop Rally. Your creeps will be healed. Take down the big ones only, and gain tempo until another wave comes in. Then kill the rest and move to the tower at level 7-8 with as many creeps as possible. Then use your ulti and watch the tower crumble. Yes, an ulti just to push your lane, not in combat. But let's face it, you are no Ryze or Yi. Boosting your dps in combat is unlikely to get anyone killed. However, Kayle pretty much OWNS the pve environment. Get defenses, don't die, hold your lane against many, and take down towers with the ulti, that is what I do with her, in a nutshell.
You have a lot of hp, armor, MR. Towers do nothing to you, so don't forget to grab aggro when there is a team push. Buff your mates with intervention (2 at a time - 1 and yourself when defending). Don't forget that Reckoning stuns and does massive damage to someone who just killed one of your mates. Use boost to survive, bubble to survive, etc.
You will be low on kills, hopefully very low on deaths, but it doesn't mean you're useless. I have destoyed a lane + inhibitor on my own countless times, because the opposing team "wanted frags" and got tired of me. And I'm sure we agree that right now that inhibitor dead pretty much = gg.
I prefer to go all AP for Judicator myself. She becomes a PVP powerhouse that few expect if they haven't faced that build of Judicator before.
this is indeed only 1 way to play this monster.
i myself prefer attackspeed for some reason. it synergises well with her ulti.
Nice build, particularly the items--I never liked sunfire cape, anyway. ;)
Marks: All scaling attack speed--19% by lvl. 18
Seals: All scaling HP--202 by lvl. 18
Glyphs: All scaling cooldown reduction (for more spamming of bubble and ultimate)--8.1% by lvl. 18
Quint: 1 scaling cooldown, 2 static MP (for Reckoning spamming early game)--92 MP, 1.98% by lvl. 18
For summoner spells I of course use Boost, but I also use Smite (with the improvement from Masteries) to compensate for her difficulties killing minions early on; the extra gold helps fund her expensive equipment as well. The rest of my mastery goes into Utility rather than Defense, for even more cooldown reduction, XP bonus, and the last ability that reduces Summoner spell cooldown by 15%, ensuring I get a Smite every other wave.
By the end of the game, I'm 2~3 levels ahead, bubble is on a 16 second cooldown (meaning I'm invulnerable 25% of the time) and the ult is on 64 seconds, which transforms the golden flying chainsaw into a golden flying flamethrower. Boost cools down in 2 minutes, even without improved boost. It's pretty sick. :D
Anybody else have thoughts on how to build this hero? I was thinking of going innervating locket then banshees veil, after that i'm not quite sure but i'm not impressed with Philosopher stone at all, it seems redundant if you are going to level intervention.
Hello, and thanks Almitt for posting this! I was Logos on the old forums, and the one who posted this. It's pretty outdated, mostly because of Spirit Visage into Force of Nature doesn't work anymore :)
Here are my latest thoughts on Kayle: the best build I found is kind of hybrid.
- I play with Smite and Teleport. Smite is for jungle and TP because it's awesome.
- Go Meki pendant first. Your first 4 levels should leave you with Q-2, W-1 (for tower surprise kills), E-1 (for lane regen). Then max Q and harass.
- Get Philosopher stone early.
- Get boots of berserker.
- From then on, alternate lane with jungle when possible, and don't be afraid to punish a low life laner with a combo Reckoning + Ult + bubble under your tower kkthxbye. :)
- Get the 500hp belt, then the rest of components to get sunfire cape.
- Depending on how your team is doing, you're going to want to destroy every neutral on the map to make gold. Just travel, be an explorer, tour the world, get an occasional kill, and keep on farming.
From then on, how to spend your money on items 4, 5 and 6?
Well, my personal favourite is Wit's end, Atma's impaler, Phantom dancer (in that order). Generally, you never get to Dancer.
Bottom line is after cape you want attack speed and damage. If the opposing team is full casters, you may want to go wit's end + good MR, so chalice for cheap, or force of nature even.
Staking Zeal is a quick and efficient way to maximise your damage output if you feel that you are solid enough to fight the opposing guys.
Last tip: when you got cape, a good way to start a fight to kill is to go reckoning, move to the target until you're "on" the victim, then ult, attack, and watch your cd of reckoning to spam it as soon as possible. When reckoning hits, go "on" the target again, etc. It lets you max the number of hits you deal with ult.
Oh, and a possible lead I'd love to have some input on: have you guys tried to go cooldown reduction to minimize the time between reckonings? That could be another build right there. :)

AP Judy is still very good, tanking or going melee as Judy is almost a joke....there are other champs who melee/tank alot better
