Using Teleport and Promote to Push

I was screwing around with an idea today and wanted to get some ideas on it.

I was thinking of a top lane with TP/Promote. Yes he would have to avoid 1v1 fights early because he'd be at a disadvantage, but that can be avoided. The idea isn't quite to win your lane so much as to do 'fine' and..

Teleport into bottom lane using a well placed ward (ward closest to their turret being pink, clear their ward (if any) wait for them to push, 4 man gank +extra help from a promoted minion.
You could also have your jungler and support do some aggresive warding and TP in for a counter jungle early, using promote to keep your Cs up and your lane from having free farm.

Promote sucks. It pushes the lane early which allows for easier ganks, and it's just **** late game.

Minions and turrets scale at the same rate
A promoted siege minion takes 11 turret hits to die, so, it forces the enemy champ to stay in lane or risk losing a tower to minion damage. while the enemy champ is in lane you can roam down/up, gank, and tele back into your lane all in the time of two (counting the ave you promoted) minion waves

I believe some well known pro team tried this once in a tournament for a third game but got destroyed too quickly to see if it was viable. The nature of the pro scene being what it is, its hard to tell if the idea was simply bad or if they just didnt have time to make it work.

Right now I think the biggest problem with this is the insane CD on both spells,. I think it could work though. It would be best if you have a team that can take that turret early (<10minutes), and start roaming in packs together.

Wondering if the support should also have promote... might need the exhaust though.Hmmm

You mean you watched a CLG game at the North American Regionals? This isn't your idea =P

I'm sure someone had it before me.
Link to the game? i want to watch it.

Let's see if I can find it. If memory serves, it was against Dignitas.

I stand corrected, CLG vs CRS game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PGOa...feature=relmfu

Looks like they also ran it against LGN in their first match, game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKRkH...feature=relmfu

They didn't run teleport promote. They ran promote on the support.

I think promote on the support is a bad idea. The spell is essentially useless for the entirety of the laning phase (you'll inhibit the ability for your ADC to farm).

HOWEVER, I'm completely down with the idea of a Promote Nunu for solotop. I'm not going to take Teleport, still sticking with flash. But here's the deal...

Nunu can bloodboil the promoted minion. Nunu still has ranged harass. The promoted minion helps Nunu clean up all the last hits.

And then, while the promoted minion is pushing the lane? Not a big deal. Nunu's Q is just as good as Smite. Run into the enemy jungle, steal some of their junglers farm. Or run in their with your jungler, gank their jungler, steal some farm. Or head with your jungler to mid lane for a 3v1 gank.

You're STILL getting the gold from the promoted minion last-hitting in your lane. And the fact that he's keeping it pushed means you have time to go make an impact on a different part of the map. Usually the trouble with top lane is that you're too secluded from the rest of the action. Promote affords you the time to adventure to different parts of the map, gets some damage on their turret, and not miss out on too many last hits while your gone. Also, with Nunu, a promoted minion with blood boil does a surprising amount of damage to the enemy champion--especially an enemy champion slowed by a snowball.
